[ROM] [ROM] ZombieStomped 1.7 (.595 D2 GB Motoblur build)

I installed 1.7 (before the update) had terrible battery life for the one day i was running it. I also had the audio/video problem everyone was reporting.
I restored to 1.65...So my question is...(i see the audio/video problem is fixed)...how is the battery life?
I have amazing battery life on 1.65 (about 16-18 hours) and I don't want to lose that.

I get killer battery life. I'm on a stock battery and I'm at 14 hours 13 minutes and I'm at 50%. I could easily get 24+ hours if I didnt charge and counted when I am sleeping, But I charge every night. I have only had 1 time I had 10 percent before the end of the day since I started using Zombie.

40 minutes talk time
1 hour 13 minutes display
Not high by any means but it was a low use day.
Auto brightness
30 second timeout
wifi for most of the day 3g while traveling and on lunch break or away from my desk. about 70%-30% wifi to 3g
recorded a few minute video of a guy going CRAZY at the hospital yelling insane profanities and getting strapped down while yelling he is going to kill the staff etc...
uploaded that video like 65 megs to dropbox.

Thanks for the input!
Waiting for my phone to get to full charge before I backup and flash.
Just a sidenote when I installed 1.7 I did not wipe. I applied directly over1.65.
This time I will be following the instructions step by step...

Upgraded to 1.71 and things are looking very nice.

One odd problem I've had twice now, on different ROMs so I think it's an intermittent upgrade issue...

I have an Exchange email account set up on the Email app, and twice now (I believe after a ROM version upgrade each time) I've had a weird state where I have email for the exchange account but lose contacts and calendar. Removing and re-adding the email account doesn't help - in one case it wouldn't let me re-add it, in the second case I could re-add it, but it still didn't allow contacts or calendar to populate even though they were selected on the settings screen.

Both times I had to wipe data and re-set up the account, unfortunately.

Anyone else seen this happen w/exchange email accounts when upgrading ROM versions, and if so, find any other solution other than wiping data to resolve it?

Thanks....
Did .71 fix the media audio?

yes. It does fix it.

Didn't for me, and the version still says 1.7, not 1.71 hmmm...I did upgrade and followed the instructions for installing over 1.7

He just forgot to change it. Cause you can def see the difference, the HDMI menu is gone, DLNA is gone and the audio issue is fixed :P

So how is the wiping battery stats supposed to go? Let it drain all the way, then charge it fully, and finally wipe the stats in CWM? Cause I had to restore a backup a couple times and the battery was all messed up and I don't know if it's actually at 5% right now.

Media Server inhaling battery/processes

So I was really loving ZombieStomped 1.7, and since I never touched the blur Gallery my videos played totally fine in Meridian (with sound!) Yesterday I upgraded to 1.71 and found that my phone became unusably slow at times and after unplugging it for only a few minutes, I noticed that under Battery Usage it showed "Media Server" as the HIGHEST usage application, well beyond "Screen" which is typically at the top. I could not figure out what was using the Media Server as nothing else was running, and I hadn't even played any videos since upgrading to 1.71. I tried changing themes around, pulled the battery and did a cold reboot, but still Media Server was sucking everything up. Videos would not play, even in the system player, the audio would, but the video would only update once every second or 5.

Solution: I reverted back to ZombieStomped 1.7 and everything is beautiful, videos play, with sound, smoothly and the entire system seems much more responsive and fast again. I'm not sure what this is, but I'm staying away from 1.71 until it's resolved.

Has anyone else noticed Media Server unusually high up in their Battery Usage stats?

As noted in the other thread where you posted this, Media Server isn't even listed in my Battery stats...zero video issues.

Huh, thanks, and you're on 1.71 after having upgraded to 1.7? I wonder if I should attempt to go back up to 1.71 now, though 1.7 is doing well...

I'm with Redflea, though it shows up for me(2% at 4 min) it's a non issue. There must have been an anomaly during your install. Or it might just be an app running in the background that was using it.
