I was wondering the same thing when I saw the HDMI option at the top of the screen as well...the HDMI stuff is evidently there to enable DLNA to work, hopefully it won't be a Gallery/sound vs. DLNA trade off (though I don't use DLNA, so I wouldn't miss it).

Good catch on the additional sound issue info - I checked and confirmed that I've also lost sound in other apps - tried Pandora and Listen (podcasts) - they show that they are playing, but no sound.

I was listening to podcasts on Listen earlier in the morning, so it did work before trying to watch the video.

Only sound working for me is for phone calls, both internal and speaker work for calls, so it's confined to media...I'm going to reboot.

reboot will "fix" it... tried playing a recorded video thru rockplayer, and all is well. something with the blur gallery/video player and HDMI is what is messing with it....

Alternate Gallery and Video Apps

To solve my issues with the blur gallery, I'm just using QuickPic now, which is very speedy and even lets you exclude directories from showing up in it's listing of folders:

As for videos, I gave up on the built in video player ages ago in favor of Meridian (also free unless you want added features) and it resumes and has excellent gesture controls:

I believe I have another issue that I don't remember in 1.65....

If you select a contact in Contacts (and I've also seen this in Calendar, selecting a meeting attendee to send them an email, so my guess is this occurs in other contexts where you can select a contact and choose how to contact them) and select one of their email addresses to email them (e.g., "Email home" "Email work"), you are put into a text messaging window, and the message you enter is sent as a text message to that email address (i.e., it is sent from your @vtext.com address).

This happens when selecting either home or work email addresses in the contact.

Can anyone else confirm this?

Cannot download from the market. Tried rebooting a few times. Also have the audio playback (hdmi bug as well. Like the update and hoping these bugs will be fixed soon.

Go to manage apps and clear data for the Market, see if that helps.

QuickPic looks good, didn't like their player as much (controls don't appear when you tap the screen, and when I drag to FF or RW, I can't get the video to play - the word "Play" appears in the top right, but if I tap on it nothing happens...clearly I'm missing something here.

Worked! That's a new one. Wonder how/where email got set to Text default.

Dont get discouraged! People are just reporting info to make it better not complaining. Most features are working perfectly and nothing so far has really been a deal breaker. I look at it as a great update.

Yes quickpik is great I have been using it as a gallery replacement for a few months. Much faster and easy to exclude.

We might want to start a known bugs thread or something to stop the over reporting or to cover any bugs you might miss in the thread.

somehow, whatever controls the HDMI portion is more than likely messing with the audio. Some more info here too.... played a video, had audio. played another video, no audio. played the same video with no audio, but headphones plugged in, had audio in headphones. took headphones out, no audio again. there may be issues with more than HDMI, such as drivers and whatnot, but it seems like that would be the first likely culprit.

Camera and camcorder don't work for me. When I press the camera button it force closes and says "Oops, cannot switch landscape/portrait mode; please restart camera." I've tried rebooting but it didn't help. I did a clean install.

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Edit: It does the same thing if I click on the camera and camcorder shortcut.

I followed the instructions but for some reason it wont let me change the boot logo, saying file now found. Any reason why?

Still never got a reply to why this is not working for me. Any ideas please?
