Root

I wish there was a way cause it sure would be nice. Especially if you find that model phone that is right for you. I do believe there are 4g icons you can flash to take the spot of your 3g indicator. Not really any real way tho.

Pros: Better battery life and abilty to fully customize it to fit your needs.

Cons: Honestly there are no cons in my opinion. Only thing your risk is "bricking" your device and i have seen very very few bricked devices.

Its also super easy to root. Especially with z4root

well if its totally fried due to user error then you cant bring it back. What i see a lot on here is people will lock up there phone or make it get stuck in a bootloop and there is a number of things you can do to bring it back. Most successful i think is a .sbf file flashed with a program like RSD Lite.

Ok so what do I do and how do i save the things on my phone now. I need a bigger sd card right have a 4gb now w 3.59 gb available.internal storage 6.48gb available and phone memory 667mb available, memory should get higher yes?

Well i still got 6.68GB of storage left on my phone so i hardly ever save anything to my phone. All my stuff is on my sd card but i still got 4.76GB left on my 7.98GB (8GB) card. So i would upgrade to a 6GB card atleast. I think you would be safer going with a 8GB especially if you save a lot of music and photos to your phone.

What i did to save my stuff was i went ahead and rooted with z4root and then once i was rooted i downloaded rom manger which lets you install clockworkod recovery. After i clicked "flash clockwrok recovery" i hit "backup current ROM" and backed up all my data with clockwork recovery. Rom mangager also lets you boot into recovery to access your backups.

HOLY CRAP!!!! lol will phone be alot faster too?

Can verizon detect the root and kill it or something?

It seems like a lot of work but it really isnt that hard. Before i first rooted i was like uh oh what if somethin happens and i dont have warrenty or what if i mess up and cant recover what i have done. After i rooted for the first time and flashed my first rom i was like wow was i really nervous about this? It seemed like nothing after i did it. I can say with overclocking my D2 I have seen it become snappier to commands and have less lag when browsing the internet. What i mean by snappier to commands is my D2 does what i ask as soon as i ask it to with no lag.

I got somethin to read up on now and learn the ins and out of the Dinc as well. What program do you use to bring one back? Unrevoked?
