Rooting 101

Ok, lets start fresh. Uninstall Superuser, reboot, then permanent root again. Seems for some reason that root isn't sticking.

terminal emulator still wont install but superuser is working right now. busybox and titanium backup work.

yup, im backing up right now as a matter of fact. i dont understand it.

Yeah, that doesn't make sense. Maybe try again in a few days (rebooting once a day) and/or clearing data and cache in the market. Welcome to the dark side though! :dancedroid:

What's the difference in outcome between a temporary or permament root which I see from the rooting app.

i dont know the difference. im guessing it will unroot on reboot? just do perm. it is always undo-able if needed, and doesnt hurt anything

Battery pull should get it to root. Always want to do the perm root, that temp root is only in place for a few phones.

Sometimes it just needs to extra reboot to complete the process same as BB

I suppose I didn't make sense with that at all. All I meant was pull the battery to get rid of the loop, then just the next time it boots up it'll be good and should be rooted

I was talking about mystery's problem, like I said I'm on my phone and missed a page.

So did a verdict ever come from on whether it was better to freeze or completely uninstall apps? I've frozen a bunch of mine that I don't use to keep them from dragging down memory, but I'd like to completely uninstall if possible.
