Please, is there any way you guys can PLEASE not put 12 cameras all over the phone? I work in a... sensitive... area for the .gov people, and cameraphones are grounds for getting tossed. As it is, I pulled the lense out of my D1 and drilled the actual camera bits out, filled with JB Weld (nicely looking mind you) and then I was able to bring it into work. Droid Pro? Psh... No thanks. I just want one of the new phones to give me a possibility of upgrading from my D1, but nothing good is in the works now. That's not all bad though, I still love my D1.

Considering these are consumer phones and consumers want cameras your choices are going to be quite limited. Now what would be nice is if the manufacturers came out with software that disallowed access to the camera rendering it useless but not actually having to make a phone without a camera so people in sensitive areas could still have the phone of their choice. A win for everybody.

Based on the source that is leaking it, it is completely legit. Doesn't get any more reliable than him.

So 4+ inch screen = 4 + QWERTY!!! That would be nice but for some reason I feel like this may be another disappointment. The Droid 1 set the bar too high....

That would be nice but they didn't even offer a camera free version of the Droid Pro.

As far as facts and confirmation. You can bet this device is 100% legit and it WILL be released on VZW's network. The source has yet to be wrong. When it comes to Motorola devices he's way ahead of the curve. You'll hear about the Solana next year on the tech blogs and it will be old news to you : )

so at the moment all we know is that it is a etna with a keyboard and is on vzw

Verizon yes, Tegra 2 yes but anything beyond the processor is unknown

A tegra2 slider eh? I'm not due for an upgrade until this coming november but I dont know if I can hold out that long, I was thinking about buying my way out of my 2 year in march. The physical keyboard isnt necessary for me but I do like having the option of using it when the on screen keyboard screws up or (as other people mentioned) for emulators.

From what Ive seen the looks of the Olympus didnt wow me, but I just saw the video of the LG Star and thats a nice looking device. I wonder what the Solana is going to look like...

I hope the form factor is similar to the BB Torch or Dell's Venue Pro. I think that type of slider is the best for both screen size and usability of the KB.

I love my Droid but I miss the more compact QWERTY KB's on phones like the Blackberry Torch.

Is it me, or does that screen look nothing like the Olympus, and have an edge in the middle suggesting a slider? Unlike all the other Olympus images I've seen, this one is thinner~ and with an angled shape.

Most definately a distinct seperation down the middle of the phone suggesting moving parts. A bit boxy though. A sad day indeed if this is the tegra 2 slider. Kinda like a mini tablet.

Interesting. That isn't Olympus.

Oh, and Solana does not use Tegra 2.
