Samsung Ends Production.. Bye Bye Galaxy Note 7

Just got a message from VZW:

Free VZW Message: Samsung has announced that the Galaxy Note7 will no longer be sold for safety reasons. We strongly recommend that you power down and exchange your Note7 for another device of your choice. You can exchange your Samsung Galaxy Note7 at go.vzw.com/note7faq. Exchanging your Note7 online instead of visiting a Verizon store will be your most efficient way to get a new device.

Customer safety is our top priority. While Samsung investigates multiple reports of issues on the Samsung Galaxy Note7, Oculus is removing support for all Note7 devices on the Oculus platform.

If you have bought content in the Oculus store to use with your Note7 and you’d like to be refunded, Oculus will honor that. More information about the refund process is forthcoming, and if you have any immediate questions, please go here.

For more information regarding the Note7, please visit Samsung’s information page or contact Samsung directly.

Whatever Sammy is going to call the next gen Note, it will be out by February. Most device manufacturers have their next product in tweaking mode at least 6 months before the scheduled release...

This would make me happy but I don't see it. People will be far far to skeptical of a device hitting the market that soon.... Plus it throws the whole fall/Apple launch date race.... Although in February it would definitely beat the iPhone 8 launch.... Lol

I truly think at this point they may just cut their losses for now and work extra hard next towards next August... Again I don't want this at all. I hope in the comings days/weeks they pinpoint the exact flaw and those of us that kept them will be safe...

But business states that at this point they just can't "afford" another "flip flop" in the public eye.

They need to focus on damage control for the S8 release. Because they will be under very very tight scrutiny from the US government and more so the consumers. Their biggest enemy right now is the Internet and social media...

Can you imagine how much worst the Tylenol fiasco would of been in the 80's if the net was then what it is today....

Have you used the pen from a Note 7. It's not even comparable. It's like drawing in the sand with a 2x4 compared to a toothpick. The 7 pen is so much smoother and more accurate. I never realized how the Note 4 pen lacked silkiness until I used the 7.

Granted if it all comes down to it I'll probably go back to my 4 but man what a backwards move...

But again the odds of having an issue are so small I'm going to wait as long as I can.. I still think there is more of an answer than just the battery exploding. I think people were charging them with bad type c adapters, or cheap Chinese wireless pads or wrong chargers altogether.

Silky smooth won't help my handwriting. Clicks and hovers are what I mean. Screen Off Memo ftw, even if my handwriting is atrocious. I would compare the tip on my Note4 to a blunt toothpick trying to write on a piece of sandpaper but like I said, damage from 2 hacks of 2x8x16s dropped on a hand will not be alleviated with a better stylus pen tip. My Note2 actually is smoother than my Note4 but it's no biggie to me. I just don't press down so hard and there are YouTube videos on how to adjust the sensitivity to make it so you don't even need to touch the screen to write.

This fiasco cost Sammy 17 Billion $$.. They can't afford to wait till August..

But rushing and having yet another setback will cost them more than that.

They can recover the confidence by having a strong release of the S8 and S8 edge. If those two devices knock it out of the park they can ride that momentum into the note 8.

Why couldn't Samsung push out an OTA for the S7 for s-pen support?
Is there an honest difference in the screen tech between the N and S series phones?

It may not be called a Note but it will still be a device. But again we are all going off from some columnists opinion or thoughts. Whatever gets their site more clicks and ad revenue.
