Samsung Galaxy Note 5 & Galaxy S6 Edge Plus Officially Launch Today - Who's Buying?

My latest battery stats. Don't know why I didn't have power saver on. Guess I forgot to set that up. It's on now.

Actually my notes (including this one) have danced circles around my son's iPhone.

Okay, here it is just before putting on charger. The first 13.5 hours no power saving mode, then 1 hr power saving, then 2 hrs ultra power saving mode, then the remaining 3 hrs regular no power saving. In summary, almost 19 hrs with 16 hours on regular no power saving mode. Battery does better than my N3 which was always on power saving mode. And with my N3 I did not have a spare battery. I only relied on juice. Actually I've always relied on juice. Just easier than switching out a battery not to mention the expense of a second battery.

The expense of a second battery, really, like what $10 and one minute to change from power off to power on. So let me get this straight, you worry about the expense of a $10 spare battery, and then go and buy a $800 device.

How much on screen time do you get with your Note 4 and Nexus?

The first wasn't bad with 50% left.....BUT... only 4 SOT with 20% left is pretty weak. My S5 does much better than that. I've only turned on battery saver once over the last year+ and that helped give me another few hours of usage when I was down to 16%. Honestly, I expected better from this device, but keep in mind it's still new. Once you build up your cache reserves and do some tweaking, you should be able to get at least 6hr SOT....at least I should hope so. Thanks for sharing your results Tis....keep us updated.

I haven't seen decent spare batteries for $10.
Tis is right....because this device is so new, you're not going to find an OEM replacement battery for 10 bucks. (For an S4/S5 sure), but newer devices are closer to 50-60 bucks. Of course that price will drop to around $20 after its been out awhile, typically around a year.

Are these phones much smaller than last year's versions or are they coming in around the same size?

The Note 5 is very close to the same size....very slightly thinner. The S6 Edge+ is obviously bigger than the S6 Edge but still in a class of it's own....in my opinion...

I'm curious as to what the size difference is between the Note Edge and the S6 Plus Edge. I will Google around for it.

Umm...I would say the S6 Edge+ is thinner...

Ok so it is taller than the Note Edge, but thinner in width and thickness.
