SCH-i510 Samsung Stealth - Nexus S Successor?

Why does it matter if it has Touchwiz cant you just get LauncherPro?
Once you get a taste of pure and simple Android it's hard to go backwards : )

Vanilla Android is like a fresh clean stream. These UI's(Sense, Blur Touchwiz) are like throwing mud into the stream. They pollute it.

Launcher Pro, ADW etc etc...it's just not the same. It's hard to explain but I personally don't want to be forced to install one of these launchers on my device to enjoy it.

Amen, brotha! I've had the Nexus One all along, and nothing with an overlay appeals to me in any way. In fact, that's part of the reason I haven't rooted the thing yet! I just like the way Google does it--pure, straightforward Android. dancedroid

Early Summer?

Any insider info on release dates? :-) The initial on the Etna was Feb (verizon) but then I heard early summer 2011.

Early Summer? Where did you hear that from? I am hoping that is wrong. I have an upgrade available right now and am holding off for the first dual core phone to hit Verizon, hopefully the Etna.

Here is where I found it from:

Agreed my G2 doesn't have Sense UI and I like much nicer than my Droid 1 and Droid X. I used Samsung Vibrant before dumping for the G2. Touchwiz sucks and it sucks to have to flash to get a phone the way you want.

Have you ever bought a computer from HP, Dell, Acer, or any other company like that? If so, your suggestion is the equivalent to deleting the icons to all of the crap that they pre-bundle on the computer. It's all still there slowing you down and causing crashes, you just don't see the icons. In Android, those things (TouchWiz, Blur, Sense, etc.) are all like that. There always running, slowing you down and providing you no benefit no matter how hard you try to delete their icons by installing Launcher Pro or ADW, or whatever.

Hmm I have a droid 1 and see no reason to use the stock launcher over launcherpro, it just has so many more features and customization. I didnt know that the other stuff is still running that sucks. Maybe if the phone is rootable you can remove it?

Thinking about it more, this phone looks very tempting. If Samsung drops the cheap plastic of the casing, I'm all over it.

Moto really does build quality right, so I'm still edging towards the Etna.

I agree Motorola builds a heck of a phone. I'm on the fence right now though.

This will be a tough decision. Etna and Stealth are going to be 2 great phones.
