SD Card

I am looking at what's on my SD card via Astro. Should I be deleting things on the card that I no longer want on my phone to clear up space? The way I am interpreting this SD card is that of a HD?? If this question is not clear please let me know...thanks.

Yes, it's kind of like a storage device. If you see stuff left on there from apps you do not use then it's probably OK to remove it. Just be careful.

if you know that a specific folder is for a certain app that you have removed then by all means go ahead and remove it. If your not sure or cant figure out what it goes to leave it there.

if your not sure on a folder sometimes you can go into the folder and look at the files to figure out what it goes to in most cases.

last option ask here in the forums chances are someone else has the same folder and can help.

+1 for copying to your computer. Backup are a good thing
The Android files I have on my Computer run deep, I could probably compile my own source ROM :P
