I am rather OCD about my expensive electronics, but I have never been a fan of phone cases because I carry my phone in my front pocket and I hate having extra bulk in my pockets. I had an unprotected (i.e. no case) Moto Razr phone for the past two years while my family had protected phones. By the time two years were over, my phone was in better condition than their phones!
So knowing that I hate extra bulk and that I can count on myself to keep very good care of my phone, I battled for a while with whether or not I wanted a case. I eventually figured that if I am going to be using it as an mp3, gps, and camera, I better get some sort of protection on it - one bad drop and the multitude of scratches that would be sure to follow would drive me crazy.
I did a lot of research and decided to go with the Seidio Innocase after hearing such high praises for it in numerous forums. I received it in the mail yesterday (shipped in two days with Fedex), and I must say, I am VERY impressed. I would have no problem tearing it off if I didn't like it and validating my previous thoughts of disliking cases, but I won't be doing that with this case.
It feels very durable. It hugs the phone like a glove and the cut outs for the camera, back speaker, and buttons are all very precise. It adds very little bulk, which is probably the thing I like most about it. Negligible width and weight is added. After slipping it into my pockets this morning for the first time, I could tell it was a little thicker...but just barely. I also like how low profile it is. The black color and the fact that it fits the phone so well make it appear as if there isn't even a case on there. I have also found that the phone slides just as well as it did before. You do lose a little bit of the extra room above the top row of keys, but the actual keys are not obstructed or covered in any way. It makes it a little tougher to hit that top row quickly, but ultimately it doesn't impact your ability to actually be able to make solid contact with those keys.
My mom and dad already had cases for both of their phones, and my dad knows how much I dislike cases, so he was a little surprised when I told him I was ordering one. Suffice to say, I showed him my case last night and told him that I am actually happy with my purchase. He looked over it, and liked it so much that he ended up buying Seidio cases for his phone and my mom's phone too! (Both of which are non-Droid phones).
Also, as an aside, I have noticed representatives from Seidio post on forums multiple times offering to assist customers who have been unhappy with their purchase or received defective units. All too often I have purchased relatively expensive items that fell well below my expectations and then customer service was non-existent if I had a complaint. It's obvious Seidio really believes that have an A+ product and they are willing to stand behind it with their customer service. I get the impression that they genuinely want you to be happy with your purchase. They have the type of customer service and quality product that I felt compelled to take the time to write this lengthy review - to me, that's really saying something.
