Seidio Case

incipio will be releasing a 'feather' series case for the droid, i was told by their customer service dept.....but are unsure when it will be for sale....hopefully some time soon, i'll try it out.

New Droid user here and looking for a protective case, holster, and docking/charger unit. Droid cost me $125 after rebates with mind blowing technology. The rub is that Seidio will try and charge me $30 for their case, $35 for the charger unit, and another $35 for the leather holster; total of $100 ...almost the cost of the Droid itself! (for goods that prob cost Seidio $15.)

It's just the principle! Not like their products are rocket science. Not to mention all the fit/quality issues I'm reading on here.

Anyone else feel like payign a fair price rather then getting hosed? Open to other solutions. Thanks!

Well, I decided to trust the statistics that suggest only a very few Seidio Innocases for the Droid are defective. I received my case today and the top does not fit. It's as if the case is too short for the screen. Also, the cutouts are quite sharp. I expected better. I bought it from Amazon, so I hope there isn't any trouble getting a replacement.

wondering if it could be a counterfeit ?

I got mine today. Ordered it from Seido and it is perfect. Gives the phone a good feel and the clip holster holds the phone very secure. Prices are a little high though.

I hope not. It came in legit-looking retail packaging and it has the Seido logo on it, albeit not the embossed logo.

I'm sure it's not a counterfeit, however, it is very likely that amazon bought a bunch of the initial batch from seidio and is reselling them. The first batch, as many people have posted, was not as "finished" looking as the later batches, seidioseidio him/herself has even said they have changed the design more recently. I got two cases from them as well as two screen protectors and they all worked perfectly on my droid and my fiance's droid, very finished, no white embossing and no dremeled hole...only complaint could 3 or 4 rough patches across both cases, but they smoothed out within a day or two of regular handling, and now I couldn't tell they were there at all. We got the purple and blue cases a week or two ago if that makes a difference to anyone.

Hello,

We are sorry about your experience. Please PM us your order information and we will be able to determine the authenticity as well as the issue if it is indeed our cases.

Regards,

Well, I received my replacement case in, and if you can believe it, the top part is even worse than the original one I received, to the point where I can't even get the piece to fit on the phone.

This is just too much aggravation for what should be a simple product. I want to like this case because it looks nice and has a great texture and feel to it. But it seems to be too much of a crapshoot trying to get one that actually fits.

Thank you - last night I sent an email via the Seidio website and I have already received a response. I sent my order info, so the process is underway!

Has anybody received a replacement peice that actually fit?

Yes, there have been users here who have reported that their replacement actually fit where the first one didn't. This is why I don't really buy the story that this issue is the result of Motorola's large tolerance differences. If the same phone can fit one case but not the other, then clearly the issue is the case - it's the only variable that's changing.

Not true. The case I received went on to the droid I was replacing with no problem, unfortunately I could not get the top cover to go on to my new droid. I repeatedly tried the cover on both phones and repeatedly got the same results. Why or why couldn't it have been the other way around? :)

Saw this blog post about a soft case

Move Over iPhone, Adorable Android Case Comin' Through

Tuesday - 10:00AM by GeekSugar

Yesterday on my Facebook page, someone mentioned that they were looking for a case for their Droid. I set out right away to find something awesome when I stumbled across these adorable Android robot cases on (where else?) Etsy. Version 1.0 ($18) fits your Android T-Mobile G1, whereas Version 2.0 ($22) is hand crafted to fit your Motorola Droid, and even comes with an accessory pocket. Speaking of pockets, I want to stuff that little robot in mine and take him home!

My Innocase arrived yesterday. O bought it on Amazing last week, but it was from the market, sold and shipped by Seidio.

The fit is flawless. Much better than the OEM Shell/Holster which, btw, took two before the back piece fit at the power button corner.

Overall it is thinner, softer, better fitting, and straight.

I was worried about the fit, but it looks as though I got lucky.
