Seidio Case

Then don't buy it.

Pay the $500 for a replacement when something goes wrong, that a case "may" have prevented.

It's totally up to you.

May being the key word. The only case that will truly protect a phone from a fall is the Otterbox defender series case, but you would have to give up the slider for that. The rest only help keep the phone from getting scratched up.

Hello do u know, if i put an invisible skin (full body protection) on will the droid still fit purfectly in the case?

I tried ( have extra bodyguardz skins) and does not fit snuggly. Since the seidio case so to tight fitting, and doesnt move, there is no worry of rubbing to the DROID. I used to have the big o' body glove case, and the top protector was loose on the left side, and made "brush" marks on the droid.

Best money spent. Currently have the black one (for work) but thinking about getting the blue one for casual.

edit:
i know that the seidio protects against scratches on the phone for sure, but i've read that the case itself gets scratched often. is it true?

Invisible Skin and case

I have the Invisible Skin and the Innocase. The skin did not hurt the fit at all. I've been carrying the the Droid in the Innocase for about two weeks, sometimes in the holster/clip and sometimes in my pocket. Still looks like new.

I just think $30 is alot of money to spend on a case for a phone

haha i have other cases that run from $10-$15 and seem to do the job just as this case does. And i highly doubt a plastic case will protect from anything aside from scratches on the outer shell of the phone. It is a rare occurrence that a plastic cover wont break to pieces when dropped from a decent elevation.

The thing that would spark my interest to buy a $30 case would be if the paint stays on nicely (if you don't drop the phone). With other cases ive owned the paint has chipped away causing a blue case to have white spots. Is it the same with this case?

I agree the cases look nice but i have a concern about them.....

1. Does the color start chipping away?

I don't think they're made of painted plastic. The plastic itself is colored. So there isn't any chipping. I've had mine, (In burgundy), for a few weeks now, and it's been in and out of my purse, and I've scratched it with my finger nail a few times, still looks brand new. :)

I will say, that it's a PITA to take off. So I don't. It's a really tight fit, which is great! But I'm worried I'm going to rip my phone in half when I try to remove the top piece. lol

I haven't any problem with chipping or anything. however I don't drop my phone. It stays in my pocket, in the little hole in the door of my car, or on a desk all the time.

i've used them for a while now and i haven't done any major scratching to mine.only thing i had once was a bit of the rubberized paint chipped a little on the edges...they gladly replaced it.:)

As I've got clumsy hands, since i got the Droid I actually dropped it no less than 5 times.

lol, as a result, i used to have an innocase, which did a superb job in preventing scratches. but after a phone replacement through the insurance.

I had to use something that provides more cushion to protect the phone.
got this instead:
PDair Leather Case for Motorola Milestone A855 - Book Type (Black/Crocodile Pattern) by PDair - PDair.com

so if you dun drop your phone often, go for seidio.
but if you do or your phone is bumped alot, then go for a soft case.

I've gotta say that after 3 months with this case, I'm a bit disappointed with it. At first I thought it was great, it took a while for the sliding mechanism to loosen up and get back to normal, but the fit seemed good and I liked the feel a lot better than the other Droid cases I had seen.

However over the last month or so, the back piece of the case has been falling off very easily. If you take it off and are looking at the inside, the clips on the right side appear fine (worn, but still ok), but over time the ones on the left have basically completely worn down to nothing, and thus the left side of the case is always very loose and comes off fairly easily now.

Very disappointed considering the cost of the case and Seido's good reputation.

Thanks for the quick response, check your PMs.

I too have had the Seidio for about 3 months now. Just recently the top casing has been coming off. After closer inspection, the grooves look to be worn down such that it no longer snaps on 'snug' to the screen.
