[ROM] [SELFKANG ICS AOSP ROM] CM9/ICS for Droid 4 -- [BETA 03/05/2012]

on 3/14 and done the LTE to 3G switch 4 times this morning without issue.

I have yet to test WIFI to LTE or 3G yet, as I don't have WIFI to test. Maybe someone else can confirm this, but looks like the 3G to LTE hand off has been solved!! Awesome!!
If i have the time to flash today, i'll give it a shot. To be honest, i'm almost ready to just wait it out, until theres a release of cm9.

How do I make a nandroid backup on this rom since everything is golden?
And the only problem is wifi saying authenticating problem, how do u fix?
And on the lockscreen is a widget to skip ur music track, how do u get pandora on there?

I think it's made the same way as if you were in non-safe mode. But it also asks if we wanna back up the 'primary' system. Idk what that means or if it's necessary. And also Idk if we should backup the webtop application, it asks that.

I'm gonna try it and see how it works for me.

Ok thanks pimp....what's webtop anyway

It's an application that launches when you connect the phone to a compatible lapdock. Though there is a hack to have it launched even over HDMI. Also, I now have the problem you have with WiFi and it continuously authenticating haha.

Aside from the WiFi problem, going from 4G to 3G worked first try, but I had to switch back to 3G twice to get 4G to connect with the bars turning blue. Meh, I'm happy.

Yea same here, I can switch from 3g to 4g no problem.only thing is is that getting data service is still a little sketchy..not to worried abt it except I'm waiting on phone calls for job interviews.

Spoke too soon, 4G randomly loses signal. Well being able to switch between the two is a start. Also, I really hate what Motorola decided to do with the storage on this phone... It makes it confusing with moving files on the phone.

Storage on my eeePad transformer is the same. There's an "internal" sd card, and then a removable. So /mnt/sdcard is actually internal storage, and sd-ext is the actual removable sd card.

D3 was the same with storage...any advise as to making a nandroid backup on cm9?

boot into recovery (press menu button at splash screen)
backup and restore
backup
internal or External SD doesnt matter, but do it where you have 2-3 gigs of room available
include Webtop in backup?
--yes
include Primary System in backup?
--yes

and let it do its thing -- will take a while

Is there any way to change this? Is there a hack that can change where the internal is mounted or just disable it completely? I have a 32gb external but google music only saves cached music to the internal storage which is limiting how much I can cache for offline playback. I guess this is not specifically related to this rom but if anyone knows how to change the mounting locations it would be very helpful. Thanks!

You can solve that with this app:
[TOOL] DirectoryBind - move data to external_sd (GameLoft, Shadowgun etc.) ROOT req. - xda-developers

I dislike it too, it's completely idiotic for the Droid 4 because it has only 8GB of space. I would of rather had a 8GB SD card, because the way it is now just creates confusion.

Thanks for the help. Problem with this method is that while it redirects where GM stores the files it incorrectly sees the free space on the drive and therefore wont fill up past 4GB.

But there is a solution :). Extract the attached file from the zip and put it in the /etc directory replacing the old one. I modified it to swap /sdcard and /sdcard-ext. Disclaimer: your phone my explode if you do this and I am not liable. I would suggest making a backup before trying this. I have my 32gb back now :). Note, this only changes things while booted into CM9. In CWM the internal and external designations are still the real ones. You will also need to replace this again after flashing a new ROM. Maybe I should make this a flashable zip. Not quite sure how though. Ill look into that when I have some time.

Love the rom I installed the 3/05 build and went to Arkansas signal wasn't bad at all changing between roaming and 3g 4g but it seemed like my phone was always switching to gsm only in the middle of the night so I would toggle back to cdma /4g lte and got signal back updated to 3/12 today haven't had any problems yet
