[ROM] [SELFKANG ICS AOSP ROM] CM9/ICS for Droid 4 -- [BETA 03/05/2012]

I had no idea cache effects battery. Friend of mine all ways said erase it to make ur phone faster

Well, in some cases it can slow down a phone or computer. But with today's hardware, it's unlikely to make anything slower, but instead faster because of caching and having some files already on the computer/phone to be quickly accessed, because of that it also saves processing which results in longer battery life.

How does low and high volts effect battery and performace

Higher voltages require more power to reach those voltages. I'm sure Motorola makes the voltages high because everyone phone CPU is unique, in a sense of they can tolerate different voltages and CPU frequencies. Giving each phone a high vsel (voltage) for each frequency range allows for pretty much all phones to work completely fine. Simply lowering the vsel from 63-to-62, could possibly cause problems with some Droid 4's at the 1200Mhz frequency range. I have yet to mess with voltages or frequencies on my Droid 4, but I've done it on my Droid X and it applies to all phones.

Vibrate on Touch

Is anyone else noticing vibrate on touch is non existance except for multiple touches quickly? I think the vibrate on touch either needs upped a notch or 7 or it needs a customized length. Just a suggestion... thanks for a great ROM.dancedroid

Ive noticed that vibrate on touch is much (much much) more subtle than it is on stock.

I like it better that way. Personal preference i guess. Making it customizable might be a good option, but i'd call that low on the priority list. :P

I find it to be nonexistant -- but I'm going to chalk that up to be the minor differences in the vibration motors.

So, 3/15 worked almost perfectly for me all day yesterday. Today, i'm having a few data/wifi oddities.

I was streaming music on my way to work today (abt an hour ride), and 45 minutes or so in, 3g just cut out. Had to reboot to get it back. Switching to airplane or lte to gsm and back didnt help.

Now, here at my desk, wifi seems inconsistent. It was connected and working, then wifi just shut down on me.
Had to turn wifi off/on to get it back.

Looks like 3/16 is posted. I may flash that and see if its any better.

Is there a more up-to-date changelog? The changelog seems inconsistent. The builds are changing, but the changelog is not. Look at github, and you see no commits since 3/10, but yet the 3/15 build is much improved over 3/14. So obviously things were commited on 3/14, yet nothing in the commit or change log....

3/16 build

So I am the guy that has been on original 3/5 build this whole time with NO real problems at all...connected fine and all... erytime i tried to update id lose something...that is, until now! I updated to 3/16 and it booted up fast and connected to 4g even faster, no more lag or anything at all, perfect connectivity!! Also I go to fool around with the camera, and now ya can actually switch it to the front facing one, take pictures SINCE IT WORKS NOWWWW, and then back to the rear facing one! Incredible work dude, I appreciate it so much, I love my Droid 4 so much and I would love it soooooo much less if I weren't on ICS! Keep the good stuff comin!

According to Hashcode yesterday, they rebuilt Rombot, so it's supposed to auto update the changelogs better than previously, although they don't pull those in the morning when the Rom pulls for upload. So the changelogs run slightly behind.

Github does show all the changes, and I've been looking over those more, as they're more precise as to what's changing. I don't like how generic things are in the changelogs.

Flashed 3/16 a few moments ago. Data already seems to be even more stable. I was having trouble with 3/15 and 4g not picking up, it would just get 3g. Although a reboot would fix things. I have yet to reinstall juice defender as I don't like struggling with data...maybe tonight when I don't need the phone.

I too thought everything was peachy with 3/16 considering my previous post a couple posts above however after rebooting to back it up (thats how happy i was) after rebooting twice now I can only get 3g and havent seen 4g yet, like wtf man :-(

That's odd. I haven't had that issue on my phone, or my wife's this morning.

So I can't help you on this one. I ran into something similar on the 3/10 build, and just had to toggle more than once to GSM - LTE/CDMA, and it eventually caught. I haven't had to do that with 3/16 though.

Just for a try, if you have WIFI available, try going back and forth from that to Cell service. I tried that at one point, and it worked.

That sucks man, I haven't seen any issues yet and I've been driving around all morning. I might try to reboot a few times to see if I can reproduce the 4g fail.

After rebooting 3 times in a row I was able to knock out my 4g. I still pick up my 3g but toggling gsm to lte/cdma isn't bringing 4g back. So good news, not your phone. Bad news is, still buggy.
Update: so after fiddling with my phone I discovered that rebooting from cm9 knocks out my 4g (I'm guessing something to do with the lte radio not turning back on?). However if I power off completely then power back up, a single toggle to gsm and back to lte/cdma brings 4g back up. I hope this will work for anyone else with this problem!
