What's that red thing in front of that truck? ;)
Think of it like a big shovel, only I sit in the cab with the heater on and the windows mostly up and don't get sprayed by semis flying past my house because I'm on a busy road like I did with the snow blower.

I wouldn't expect to you to do it for free, Jonny. ;)

It moves snow, Effin. You slow southerners would probably call it "a dang snow pusher, by gum!"

I do it very cheap, but not free. My wife's grandma tried to offer me more this year, but she's already paying me what I think is a fair price and has been my best customer so far. She doesn't like any ruts or anything, so I scrape her driveway more often than I do my own sometimes and she's always worried about getting me paid right away. I told her I know she's good for it and where she lives. She added $5 extra last time because I shoveled for her. She's in her 70's and doesn't need to be doing that herself and I carry a nice steel snow shovel in the back of my truck anyway that scrapes cleaner than her cute little plastic one.

I do my father-in-law's drive for free because it's tiny and right in town, but I dropped one of the wife's friends from my list this year because last year was my learning and practicing year. Now that I've got techniques down and such, she's gonna have to pay me if she wants me to drop the plow.

I've actually had an opportunity to pick up several more "customers," but with the baby being only 5 months, I didn't want to commit to too much and have to leave the wife alone while he's teething.

We paid cash for the truck and plow after we got married a year and a half ago and I paid off the car I'd been driving before that. Sold the wife's Equinox for around $100 less than we owed on it and have been living without a car payment ever since.

The truck's not much to look at, but it gets the job done. Gets me to and from work all year, hauls stuff for my theater group and when we do projects in the yard, and pushes snow like a champ.

I call her Ruby.

I bought her recently because my poor little Kia Forte was totaled out by an elderly man running a red light, that never even touched his foot to the break in a 40 MPH intersection. The Challenger has been my dream car since Dodge started making them again, and when the guy's insurance agreed to give me about $2000 more than what I thought they would according to KBB and NADA, I knew it was time to start shopping around.

Once the purchase was finalized, I went ahead and splurged to put an aftermarket touchscreen in her, as the head unit didn't do the 7 speaker Alpine system proper justice. In the near future I'm going to get her vinyl wrapped a glossy black while keeping the red stripe pattern on her presently, and adding either white fender bars or some sort of white decal that goes along the sides of her...I'm undecided on it still.

You win the internet for today!

The wife's truck, former hockey hauler. Lots of memories in that truck! Trying to convince her to downsize to a Ford Explorer Sport, but her father has instilled a deep hatred of the blue oval in her that I'm not going to reverse apparently. She would like a Range Rover Sport (yeah, no)!

That car is gorgeous. Be a shame to vinyl wrap it IMO.

Re: Ford. I know a girl just like your wife. Dad hates Ford so she does. She likes Japanese. Once I explained to her that Ford now owns a third of Mazda and Ford's reliability has skyrocketed because of that...She's shopping Ford. (Ford reliability has gone way up, but I think it really had little to do with Mazda).

Might want to check your facts.

Ford current you owns 2.1% of Mazda. They sold their stake in 2008.

Ford owns a 2.1% stake in Mazda of Japan, an 8% stake in Aston Martin of the United Kingdom, and a 49% stake in Jiangling of China.

I never disliked Ford per say, just never owned one till I bought the van a year and a half ago. I've been very happy with it.
