Sirius XM Android app is here

I dropped XM about a year or so ago, got a offer in the mail the other day, next 5 months for $20.00 no commitment after that to try and get me back, guess now I will have to take them up on it so I can use the app.

Same here, guess I will give them another try, for 5 months at least....

I clicked on the link to download the app and nothing happens. I have a Droid X. Yes, I have the trusted sites thingie unchecked.

FastKatt:

The email address given in another thread on this subject was [email protected] which is where I sent my request for speedy attention to this flaw.

This was a part of their response to me:

"We are aware of this issue and are already working on a fix. An updated application with full 2.2 supports will be posted at http://www.siriusxm.com/android as soon as it is available. If you would like to be notified, visit XM Radio - Page Not Found and we will send you an email once the update is available. We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue."

It should be noted that when I went to the suggested address for the "notify me" benefit, it gave me a notification that they are "sorry but the page no longer exists." Just a broken link, I'm sure. But the bottom line is that XM is no longer responding by dismissing their responsibility to fix this.

I was able to sign up for the email notification for the 2.2 fix
I was "ROFL" at your pun: "Siriusly"
I really laughed out loud when I read it

[email protected] will tell you to contact [email protected]

Support won't tell you anything without a name and customer id, which is ridiculous. Also they sent me an email that I should call in and tech support could walk me through a fix. I called just for fun and they said I need to run a task killer and make sure it's on wifi, (of course after having me uninstall the app, power off, pull battery, start the phone, reinstall the app, and kill everything running. Which I told them I was doing when in fact I didn't). I explained how stupid they are and how task killers are not a good thing on 2.2, and explained that when I rooted my phone and disabled the stagefright player everything worked fine. They had no clue what I was talking about. I asked for my charges to be prorated for paying for a service that does not work and they basically told me if I don't like it to cancel my service or wait for the update. Of course they said it will be released soon, but couldn't say when...

Gotta love tech support... :icon_ banana:

Wow. That seems like a lot of trouble to go through just to mess with someone. Do you rip the wings off of flies too?

It works!! THANK YOU EVILDROID (Member#101486)!!

Thanks to Booch_21 (and others) I was able to get it to work perfectly. I enjoyed 2 hours of uninterrupted XM yesterday. Booch_21 already laid out the instructions but I'll post a simplified version anyway.

Here's what I did:

1) Purchase and install easyroot (i'm lazy and easyroot is cheap)
2) Root phone
3) Reboot
4) Purchase and install root explorer
5) Use root explorer to edit /system/build.prop
6) Change the line media.stagefright.enable-player=true
to media.stagefright.enable-player=false
7) Reboot
8) Play O and A on XM202
9) Enjoy loop-free explicit comedy.

Thanks for the help Booch_21 and others who contributed to this thread; I wasn't looking forward to going back to 2.1 for a single broken application!

WORKS!! THANK YOU EVILDROID (Member# 101486)!!

Sirius still doesn't beat Pandora?

Ugh...it installed like butter and I have sirius in my van but no premium. Is the $2.99/month worth it when Pandora is free and better quality plus Pandora is far more versatile? This free trial keeps skipping and goes silent when a text comes in. Not sure if that's because it just the free trial or not. It just got stuck on the Pulse playing the first chorus of a song over and over. Pandora=win...Sirius...not so much. Anyone have any clues to why it sucks so bad or is it just because it's the free trial? Oh...I don't listen to Howard but do like the 80's and 90's channel and I don't see those either. :(

I agree. They sent me a free trial. It is not smooth on 2.2. Pandora and Last FM are free, smooth, and show the art work. I keep Sirius/FM at home, only because I have the player jacks hooked up all oner the house.
