sms texting problems?

I have had the motorola droid for 3 days, i love the phone. I have been having issues with texting a friend with att. I wouldnt get half of her messages, and she wouldnt get some of mine. I've searched and didnt really find any threads with the a related problem that im having. Has anyone else had this problem with the droid, or am i the only one?

Did you ever get it solved?

I have been having the same problem for a few weeks. I haven't been able to nail it down. The rest of my family is on ATT and sms throughput back to them is spotty.

the only time someone does not get my message is if they are on AT&T. so this works fine. It'll show them who's the boss.

Works fine with me. No problem with texts. This happened when I first got my droid, but it only happened when I was porting my number out from AT&T. AT&T users couldn't get my texts, just Verizon. Since you had your phone for 3 days though, all of that should be over with. I'd try calling up to see if they could help you resolve network issues.

I downloaded the handcent sms app and it has been working perfectly since...plus i like the layout better than the default messenger
