snes rom help

Alright im having a problem downloading snes roms. I have snesoid lite(going to buy the full app if i can get it to work).Heres what i do:
Step 1-go to a snes rom website and download the game.
step 2- then i unzip the file and put it in a folder i made called snes folder on my sd card
step 3- Open snesoid lite and look for the folder click on the folder and it says no file found.

Skip step 2. The file shouldn't be unzipped.

The above is correct, don't unzip the file.

Also, I've noticed while downloading ROMs to my phone, sometimes they are a very small file size (don't work). I can go to the same website on my PC and download correctly. Just have to transfer to my phone from the PC.
