So how's everyone liking the RAZR?

In regards to the phones speed, this thing is far better then adequate... Things load on demand, high quadrant scores, Nena mark as well even with a generation old gpu... UI only lags when multitasking otherwise smooth...

Battery is not too great thus far. I'm at 3 hrs 50 mins on wifi at 40%, 4G disabled while surfing the internet, this forum and listening to music on medium high volume. I could do that on my Thunderbolt with 1350mah (be that as it may my TBolt is rooted and Das Bamfed)... Not impressed at all truthfully...

Screen is vibrant and full of color and rich blacks although the whites are much more "plasma" like compared to other versions of the AMOLED and S-LCD's on the market. The response time is fantastic but, unlike the Fascinate, Charge and DINC, the pixelation is present at normal to close range all the way out to about 15 inches or so... Resolution is not so important for me and thus not a big deal but pixelation on AMOLED and pentile screens is very big deal... Again not impressed...

Screen is not particularly responsive when utilizing the keyboard to type in landscape mode... Takes a bit of precision, TBolt definitely handled this much better...

Headphone amp is much weaker in Razr compared to TBolt tho this is only noticeable in higher end headphones (Beyer dynamic DT880Pro)

1080p video is a nice plus, noise cancelling very good... Camera Quality? After viewing many different videos and photographs from both phones on my computer taken in broad daylight, videos and pictures are coming out much better on the Thunderbolt??? Tho this is arguably a feature HTC and Samsung have all but mastered...

Data signal didn't work for the first couple hours I got the phone, by the time I was going to call Verizon it kicked in... However, my data signal has continuously come n gone freely... So I've been using wifi primarily. Not nice to know my data signal is iffy at best.

The design is fantastic and so is the feel of this thing... But as you can see I'm feeling like I might have check out the Rezound very carefully and possibly trade this thing in... We'll see...

And it comes with an unreasonably short charging cable.... I dunno guys, I'm a Moto fan too, from OG to DX and Xoom but this one is feeling a bit like a disappointment...

I love it. I have had the orig droid at release date, had droid x for year, just recent bad X2 for about week (warranty issue with x, and they
Were out of so lucky me got the x2. Just picked up razr fri night and wow! Touch screen better, display sweet, feels great in hand, and its
Freeking FAST

The charging cable isn't any shorter than the one that came with the Dx and Bionic in my opinion... yeah it sucks that it is short, but Moto hasn't been providing long charging cables for a little while now...

As for my opinion on the Razr, I do like it a lot. I am coming from the Bionic and I like the Razr much better. I was never in love with the Bionic like I was with my DX. The Bionic had problems with data drops and in my opinion, gingerbread didn't sit well with the bionic for some reason. I had screen freezes and it needed battery pulls every so often. I got the Razr on Saturday and I am enjoying it and love the feel of it. It is very light, doesn't weigh my pants down (I am a nurse and have to wear light weight scrub pants - the Bionic weighed them down and pulled on the one side so I had to quit carrying it). I think the screen is better looking than the Bionic's and I haven't noticed a green tint on most things. Sometimes it appears the market may have a greenish tint, but even what does show through isn' terrible imo. I like the feel of the Razr as it reminds me of the DX in shape and size. I am not concerned about the "non-removable" battery or battery life, as I have been getting good battery life considering what I have put the phone through in the last few days.

My boss just got the RAZR and I have the Bionic. I helped him get it setup so here are my initial thoughts.

-Seems to be as fast or faster than Bionic
-Pixelation on the RAZR is MUCH less noticeable than the Bionic.
-All colors look more vibrant on the RAZR except white. If you have a white background, its more grey on the RAZR than the Bionic.
-Feels good in the hand even though its so thin.
-Light Weight and feels sturdy.
-Reception/Call quality seems as good or better than Bionic.
-Time between pic taking is much faster on RAZR.

Yeah, guess I'm a little spoiled on cable length coming from my Thunderbolt back to a Motorola. A few inches may be a small difference but its definitely enough to notice, especially while trying to use the phone plugged in...

For the short power cord just get a small extention cord to plug it into.

$5-$10 bucks on EBay for a genuine Moto wall charger, my wire "cable" is almost too long, but good for using it in bed.

True but the point being, a large company like Motorola should be thinking about such things... Samsung and HTC did...

This is really not a thing any company should compromise on...

I'm not trying to be negative here but, after a few days of using this phone, tho the battery life has improved much, other things have become pretty annoying...

I'm a big guy, 6'4" n a half, 242lbs black dude with basketball hands (or football if you wish). I do A LOT of one handed typing and the added width and length of this has actually gotten in the way. I didn't think it would seeing that the stretch from the bottom of my palm to the tip of my middle finger is nearly 9 inches exactly...

And the screen, even after my initial impression, in my opinion has gotten worse after the excitement of having this new device in hand wore off a bit... Everything has this awe fully yellowish tent to it... Not so much on the Fascinate, Charge and Incredible and the pixelation is actually more noticeable...

This phone is still one of the fastest and smoothest phones I've used to date hands down...

Ironically enough, my data issue has seemed to cure itself for the most part. The cable is a nag but not a negative. After a full drain then recharge, the battery is much more tolerable and the landscape typing has gotten a bit easier (tho still not ideal). The other two complications are enough to trade this thing in for a Rezound or wait for the Nexus as I bought mine at Costco n I have 90 days to do as I wish...

Sorry guys, no trolling here intended... Just not a winner for me.

Enjoy your devices and all that you appreciate about them...

Tho I love my Xoom, its a bit to heavy to use in bed more then 30-45 mins at a time...

Awesome!!!

Sent back my Bionic back( many issues) and just got Razr. First impression...AWESOME!!! Much better 4G reception! Love the feel of it...thin and light. Love the screen....very vibrant colors! Feel like I want to put it in a case but so far phone is so new no cases available in my area. Very happy with my decision to send bionic back. I know there is an update coming for bionic owners and thats great. I hope it fixes issues because Bionic IS an excellent quality phone! Looking forward to playing with new razr once charged.

After having the Razr for a few days, I'm overall very impressed. So much so that I could live without the Nexus for several weeks or even a few months. I'm betting when the nexus releases we will be in for a shock with the weight of the device having used a Razr. Smart Actions and even Motocast make this device stellar. I'm sure there are "Apps out there that do similar things but the overall UI is well executed... For a "Power User" to a normal user, its simplistic and effective design hallmarks were I see Android evolving the ecosystem with ICS.

My previous devices were the OG, then X, then the tbolt. I really enjoyed the tbolt the most as I really understood what I was looking for in a rom build and how kernels/radios affected the overall user experience. Having totally unlocked devices like the tbolt (with S off) and the OG really make the Android experience worth while. Having spent time with the X, it was always a "well if it were unlocked we could...". I have to go on record and say, the Razr with GB almost negates the desire for me to root. My go to Rom is Liquid Smooth Pure AOSP. I love the simplicity and bare bones nature of Pure Google. I just don't see much interference with the Blur flavor in the Razr and I'm very surprised and pleased. Having watched the release of ICS and the Nexus, I feel very good about what ICS will bring to the already strong Razr. Most will disagree but Razr with ICS will be just as good of a total user experience than the Nexus with ICS. The main advantage with Nexus will be the direct updates from Google. My above assertion is not a knock against Google or Samsung, but a true praise of where Google has taken Android even with a custom overlay like Blur and carrier bloat. ICS does for Android what iOS does for Apple. It's an extension of intuitive thought and maturation of the interface. The evolution of Android will make the Razr an even more important device.

With regard to the screen tint, it's very noticeable when the screen is angled more so than looking straight on. I don't really mind the green hue so much as it reminds me the Matrix.

The blue tint doesn't bother me, its the yellowish general screen look... much like a plasma...

BTW, for those who care, my initial battery results were:

4G disabled, combination of 3g/wifi and Auto bright enabled...

3hrs 50mins to 40% battery left

After one full charge cycle:

3hrs 48mins to 60% battery left.

No complaints, that's nearly exactly a 20% increase... That makes this phone's battery not so bad at all...

Going to be returning this phone. The fact that I can't use the front facing Camera with Skype is a deal breaker. Why even have a front facing camera if you can't use it.
