So how's everyone liking the RAZR?

I came from an iPhone 4S, and I am EXTREMELY happy with this phone! It's fast, the screen quality is exceptional, the camera takes very nice pics. The only problem I've had is with bluetooth thru my car stereo. Not as clear as it was was a previous phone (HTC Merge), but works ok.

I love this phone more every day I have it. At first I was worried about the size and battery. Although wide, it is so thin I can put it in my front pocket and forget its there. Battery life has been amazing as Smart Actions save the day. 13 hours so far today and at 50% with normal use. I highly recommend this phone.

I might have a problem with mine. If I hold the phone with my left hand and i grasp the upper left corner of the phone with my thumb on the face of the screen and my index finger on the rear directly behind it...the screen turns off. I discovered this Sunday night at a concert while I was trying to snap a picture.

Basically when i "pinch" the phone on the upper left quadrant, the screen turns off.
Maybe a short?

Your phone has a very rare and unfortunate condition where it thinks it is a iPhone. Return it immediately.

would love to see a video of this - not to prove you're telling the truth, but just out of morbid curiosity! :)

For the front camera...its not the camera, it may be the software. Does Skype video chat work on other phones? If so it needs to be updated to work on the RAZR than, cuz like a post above me says...try Tango. I've used Tango twice so far.

Pentile, pixelation...utter crap screen...lol Ok....can it be seen? FOR ME held very close to my face. AT MY normal viewing distances? Not very much to no. My vision? I can use my phone from 1ft, 3 inch to 1ft, 9 inch comfortably, even a lil further away. At the closest distance (1ft, 3 inch)...its so faint you might not even notice it unless you look for it. And by that I mean look at words, edges of icons, words. Some ppl make it like the entire screen is a screen door mesh covering...its not like that at all.

Maybe ppl mean viewing web pages zoomed out.... Let me tell you: zoomed out the words are SO SMALL the average person with average eye site will have trouble seeing it on ANY phone. Maybe its under certain circumstances... Ppl...PLEASE go see these screens in person for yourselves. Look at the screen at YOUR normal viewing distances. Then decide for YOURSELF.

Screen is utter crap? Not by a long shot. That person forgot to say "TO ME"... And I dont see yellow ish. I see blue ish and green ish under certain conditions. I think that is something some ppl forget to mention. Some of the things posted can be seen under certain conditions. TO ME...anyway...lol.

Put it like this: I saw the Rezound and after the higher screen res, sharpness....thats all I liked about it. I prefer the RAZR screen...and I was fully gonna try the Rezound to see some things. Now? I dont want to. I would pick up the G Nex or the Bionic first. This is coming from some one that used to prefer LCD screens over Amoled....I might be changing my tune..lol I see why so many ppl like Amoled screens now.

And until more RAZRs oozing glue from being too hot becomes a problem for more than 1 person...I'm gonna chalk that up to either pic or it didnt, user error (there is a plastic cover on the back of the phone)....or lemon.

I'd have to argue that your suggestion that normal people wouldn't see the pixels is vastly inaccurate... Do the majority of folks know what pixels are or what they represent or accomplish? Not so much...

I can't help but to think that other then my tech savvy attitude, my eyes are far less then special and at 15 inches, where I'm assuming most people hold there phones (at or around bout), I can easily make out the pixels on my screen...

That said, I exchanged my phone today and a few of the issues I was having earlier is not the same on this phone.

No 3g drop yet
Voice signal seems solid
Screen yellowness is not so apparent but still present
UI lag is ALMOST not noticeable at all

However, pixels are still very visible, landscape typing is still rather touchy and this one seems to heat up a bit more???

Only other issue is I'm a Sense and, ironically, an AOSP fan... Blur... Not sure I like it n I was kind of trying to not have to load custom roms n such this time around...

Truthfully, I liked blur in 2.2 better lol...

Don't hate it but not sure if I like it enough either...

Have you looked at the Rezound?

I have but I'm trying not to look at it to heavily and give this phone a sincere fighting chance. Why not? I have 90 days... BTW Costco, $289.99 plus tax on THAT number... Pouch, car charger, external battery pack, HD dock and HDMI cable FREE... No complaints...

On the pixels...we will just have to agree to disagree. lol. Cuz at that distance...its barely noticeable....to me. And I have good eye site. Maybe you have above average eye site.

And about the first sentence....if the majority of folks dont know what pixels are or what they represent or accomplish....how are they gonna see it....if they dont know what to look for.? lol

So did you come from an iPhone or a merge?

My eye site is far from perfect... I wear glasses and contacts... Saving for laser correction... Asked my wife, brother and a good friend of mine if they could see the pixels... Without my persuasion and never using or seeing this phone they could see them right off the bat?

As for the comment about folks knowledge of pixels, you kind of said the same thing I said... Followed by a "lol"...

That was definitely my point. It was in regards to your broad statement about the majority of folks not seeing the pixelation...

Off the subject now because I'm not bashing nor praising this screen (as I have both likes and dislikes about it)... Only pointing out my experience in regards to.

Bluetooth signal, though a standard in regards to its existence, is far from standard and signal strength varies from manufacturer to manufacturer and then within the manufacturer from handset to handset...

Try trading your phone in for another... You really may get a phone with a Bluetooth chip that just seems to work better...

Incompatibility does exist so just because your old phone worked with a device doesn't mean a new one will... Or maybe it will but still not entirely compatible and therefore iffy at best...

3 TBolts later, I ended up with one that worked without a problem btw... And my Sennheiser Bluetooth (silver) signal was not nearly as good as my Sennheiser Bluetooth (black) however, neither is as good as my Jawbone Era... Thus, I ended up with my Jawbone...

Hooray for good quality control huh? Haha

Congratulations, you found the hidden hard reset procedure. I'm kidding. I think.
