I am in the same situation you are in. I have an Alltel Razer2 V9M (Alltel customer, became Verizon customer with the merge) and my wife just got an iPhone 4 to replace her Alltel Razer V3. I have a Driod issued by my workplace though. I was waiting on the Bionic, but I don't want to wait and miss the unlimited data. I will probably wait until July 5 or 6, then get something. Not sure right now if I will use my upgrade and do a new contract, or buy the phone for full price, but I will buy something soon.
Hey honestly I got tired of waiting on this Bionic and the minute I saw the Motorola Photon I fell in love! To top it off Sprint has Unlimited data and cheaper rates!!

Exactly, the Bionic was my next phone of choice, but I "settled" for the LG Revolution, this is 10 times faster than my Droid 1, so I'll have no problems using this for another 1.7 years, until I can get a quad core phone, WITH my unlimited 4G

Its funny-you read post where guys say-vzw is puttin out weak phones, and then vzw goes tier plans-guys scream bloody murder, there robbin use,but just as soon as some1 says-tired of waitin on bionic saw this other phone(mind u made by moto)and this carrier has cheaper plans thats gonna save me money-people nail u 2 the cross(as if ur name is JESUS!!!!!)Sorry DESERPENTOR i put this under the wrong post, was directed @ arkbird.
Thats my biggest complaint, is that now whatever phone I get I'll feel like I'm settling lol...argh! I hate having to make concessions, so now Im down to picking out of the best worst feature:
X2 - No 4G
Bionic - No Unlimited Data
Revolution - No Dual Core (and Bing)
Charge - No Dual Core (and oddly shaped)
Thunderbolt - No Dual Core (and poor battery)
Droid 3 - No Unlimited Data

Heres what I reccomend. Lock into an unlimited data plan with a cheap smartphone, and upgrade when the bionic hits stores. Although I am second guessing and that might not work AS smoothly.

Yes actually. Everyone keeps complaining and saying they will do things instead of just doing them. Nobody cares if they say they will switch to __ or get ____ phone. If you do then you do, why keep worrying about the Bionic? That's my point.
Get a phone on contract on July 6th from BEST BUY WITH UNLIMITED DATA!!! This way, you will have 30 days to return the phone if the Bionic comes within that time. You will be locked into a contract with Verizon after the 14th day, but you will have 2 extra weeks to return the phone beyond Verizon's 14 days, and still get a phone at promotional prices. This is probably your best shot at getting the phone with unlimited data. The other route would be to get any phone with unlimited data between now and the 7th and just buy the phone at full price whenever it comes out.

Or you can buy used but this is definitely an option if you want to be sure you're grandfathered into a 4G plan (even though Verizon doesn't differentiate between 3G and 4G since it's all just data to them).
