So the Apple watch is a flop....

Analysts predicted on average 3.4 million sales of the Watch with an average selling price of $499, according to the Bloomberg survey.

If they made a mere $50 per watch... That's 170 Million

I don't share the negative opinion, a good Apple product makes Android strive to be better. Same on watch as on phone.
If you like Android watches, you should wish for a better Apple Watch, it will only make your next Android watch better.

So what's Apples excuse? Android had quite a few watches out for quite awhile before Apple released their abomination.

Your opinion. I know many that love it, and only a couple with Android, they like their watch too.
I'm not a fan of anything on my wrist other than a time piece, but my post states the simple fact that a strong opponent makes you try to be stronger, or it crushes you.
I don't see either being huge in 10 yrs.

Agree with cr6. Bottom line: I despise monopolies and would hate living in a world where my only choice was Android. Or Microsoft . Or PlayStation. Or Chevy. Or even Pepsi. And I do hate Coke... But I'm glad they are still in business.. :)

Well the only real thing I care about is the same thing Apple cares about: they made money. I have Apple stock after all. [emoji6]

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. However, Apple gets away with things that Microsoft would have been crucified for. I just don't get it. I rarely hate anything, but I hate that company. Also not huge on their greasy haired fan base.

I've been an Android user since the beginning, and the Android fan base has plenty of that type as well.

Yep but I also see a lot of unfounded animosity towards MS at times. That being said, I can't wait until I get Windows 10 next week.

Though this thread seems to have veered off track a little bit, I agree with the initial sentiments. First, I wouldn't call those figures a flop, especially considering how niche of a product smartwatches are. Second, I also wish them well in their endeavors, because I also agree that competition breeds innovation. Sure, it breeds its fair share of copy-catting too, but without someone else to measure yourself by, there's less need to push the envelope.

I'm also one that doesn't want a separate data plan for my watch and just want the watch to be an extension of my phone. In that regard, AW has served me quite well through 2 devices now. While I won't be upgrading again for quite some time (as far as I can tell), I also won't be tossing my watch in a drawer to collect dust any time soon.

Yea, my watch has officially become must have. Couldn't find it for a few days. Every time I'd hear my phone get a notice, I'd look at my wrist. DAMNIT! lol

I do find that I don't always wear it clear until bedtime like I did when I first got one, but I'm always sure to check the charge so I know it'll be ready for each workday.

I wear one of mine from the time I get out of the shower each morning until bed time but for the steps count more than anything else.
I hope Apple watch makes it. I really don't want to see Samsung Tizen as the only competition to AW. It's not even a contest other than a few bells and whistles that are Gear S exclusive and not the most popular reasons to go Gear.

I'm confident that my phone picks up the step counting when I take the watch off. If I'm bumming around at home after work, I take the watch off. If we go anywhere to do anything in the evening, I keep it on.
