Squidly 2.3.20.2 Rom

A couple of weird problems I am trying to nail down

OK so first of all I am new to custom ROMS. Squidly's is my first. I went straight to squidly blur ROM 2.3.20.2 from the Stock Verizon 2.3.20.A955 ROM after rooting, loading bootstrap recovery (clockwork recovery) and making a nandroid backup, then a titanium backup of my apps.

I have been pretty happy overall with the performance and battery life but I have a couple of nagging bugs I can't seem to figure out

1) I keep getting the force closes on the battery manager. I tried the GSCRIPTS fix but that did not help in and of itself. Rebooting usually helps once you give it a minute to update the stats but then I loose uptime and cumulative stats. I then tried doing a hard reset (from the privacy settings on the device itself but that did not help

2) Ever since doing the reset and getting my apps reinstalled through Titanium Backup I have noticed the ciruclar sync icon in my notifcation try that stays up there 100% of the time. I purposely did not want to use the automatic backup and restore and have not enabled those. Thus I can't figure out why it seems to be stuck in some sort of a contacts sync

3) The DNLA app keeps starting on its own and giving me an error in my notification tray. I am not currently using DNLA but may want to in the future so I would like if possible to find a way to fix it without having to uninstall DNLS

4) I have two hotmail accounts that I sync up which keep giving me authentication errors even though I know the password is correct. At first I could just hit retry, the error would go away and the emails would sync up but now the errors have become constant

I just cleared the data for the accounts application and I am in the process of reconfiguring my email accounts to see if that helps but I am still habing the battery manager and sync issue and I am sure the DNLA issue will pop up again in a few minutes

I am getting a little frustrated at this point and I am have tempted to go back to the stock ROM if only to fix these nagging issues. Please help me and spare me the stock ROM blues.

Thanks,

ek_skotous

It sounds like a wipe is necessary to me I know its a pain but I know dlna works are you on fullblur or stock squidly?
You could also restore your backup and reinstall if you'd like sounds like data issues as for battery manager fcs its a pain some get them some don't. Id just let it collect data and see what happens I haven't had an issue.
If you are having a constant email issue you can remove it and use k9 mail free from the market it works well.

Thanks for the reply squidly. I am on the full blur version of squidly 2.3.20.2

So the email account issue seems to have cleared up after I cleared the accounts data in application management. The DNLA issue has not happened at least for a bit but I still have the contstant sync icon in the notification area. I also still have the intermittent fc's with the battery usage stats.

I guess what I don't understand is that the sync icon issue started after I just did a wipe to try to fix the battery stats issue. So it seems weird to think wiping again is the answer. I'll try it if there is no other option. If I do wipe again is there a preferred method? Before I did the wipe through the settings menu>privacy section. Is there a better way to do the wipe?

I hear ya its not usual try going to my accounts and unchecking the 3 sync things under gmail then reboot see if that helps.

I usually wait for everything to sync and install from the market before I start adding backed up apps that could have been a problem.

Thanks again squidly! I unchecked the gmail syncs and rebooted but that did not help. I ended up wiping again as you suggested only this time I waited a while before I loaded anything and then manually installed most of my key apps (instead of using titanium backup). At this point everything seems to be rocking again! Thanks again!

Question..... theres no difference in doing an Advanced Restore and choosing Data Is there? Thats what i do when i load up new roms and themes.... and ive never had a problem~

What is the GScript Icon for? When I open it a bunch of things come up... can I do anything with those things or should I? Ive installed Squidly but havent really noticed anything different about the phone. The battery icon has changed but idk how to install all the wallpaper, or clocks people have in their pics they post of their phones on here, how to make my battery last longer and data increase.

Not that its a huge deal, but I noticed that the alarm clock icon dissapears from the top bar. The alarm clock works just fine though.

I reset my batt stats last night to recalibrate my battery and i was curious as to the effect useage has on the phones ability to gauge maximum battery life when that is done. I remember reading that i should wipe batt stats at a full charge, keep using it to a minimum untill the battery has died and im doing that to some extent, but with an extended batt and squidly's superb rom i swear it would take a week if i let my phone idle untill it died. With around 75 texts sent and recived and other occasional use im at 60% and i unplugged at about 12 am on 1/22. Back to the point does the less i use the phone durning a power cycle increase the amount of battery life i will get?

I can get my battery usage stats while on wall power, but when I am in batts it just FC's.

I think you can use the GScript and click on "Fix batt manager" and itll fix that right up for you.
It happens to me too... sometimes Ill just use gscript or sometimes itll start working again on its own.
