Yes, I think he deserves a logo! I'm kinda MAD I didn't try this rom until recently. Squidly is a rom poet. My phone is just way smoother and faster on squidly's rom than others (not trying to start an argument, I'm just sayin) I really like this rom, more people really need to give it a chance. We need to start hyping this rom up or something. Oh yeah, forgot to mention the battery.... those who run this rom know what I mean about the battery, I've been putting my phone through hell and my battery has barely moved. wow.

Sometimes my music player randomly stops and then it completely freezes my screen so i have to do a battery pull.
Anything I can do to have it not freeze?

Google Voice for Texting

Hey anyone know how I can get rid of the default text app and have my Google voice texting as a default... ex. if I use say Vlingo to text... it starts the default Android texting app.. which cost money vs. Google voice that i use that's free..

Yes, don't use Vlingo

Delete the MMS.apk from ur system folder......but u won't get picture messages. Not that anyone still uses pic messaging when there's facebook and twitter

Im mean... its a google phone.... the Vlingo app was org. made for blackberry and apple i believe...so all the functions arent there yet. Sticking with "Google" apps ensures best preformance of ur phone and full functionality.
Example- use a music player that isnt stock or by elliot stocker. then try and use the VoiceCommands. Normally the music should stop, and resume after ur done talking. but none of them other than stock or elliot do. ive tried EVERY one i think LOL

Using non "stock" apps... sometimes u have to give up certain functions. I would suggest sending a comment to Vlingo them self and suggesting a fix for that~

Make a back up before u delete the mms.apk just incase it doesnt work~

Got ya.... ok.. made a backup... tried to delete system/apps/mms.apk... but I get error deleting file... tried renaming.. same error...
Do i need a root explorer type app to delete system files?

Yes. If you want a FREE root explorer....

Download SuperManager from the market(BEST IMO).....and when u open the app go to settings and enable "Root"function and then try again~

Yeah... it didn't work.. I got to delete the file.. and then messaging is missing form the drawer.. but when I try to send a text using Vlingo or any other voice to text.. it now crashes.. i'm guessing it can't find the google voice text... ARGH!!! Thanks for the info anyway... it was worth a shot.. lol

there are other voice launchers out there....try them all. If I'm not mistaken there is one that allows u to choose a different default app for sms....but I couldn't tell u which. But I know its out there. My motto is if the app don't work the way u want, find one that does

U do know ur phone has voice commands and voice control built in right? U can get directions, update ur fb status, twitter and all just by hitting voice commands its all about how u say things. Say open voice, new message , email so n so or directions to... things like that:

Its amazing what these phones can do...... I sat down and and read the instruction book online and finished a few bottles of wine~
