Oh ok so the downloadable google messenger app is the way to go? I thought you were referring to the default moto app.

Yes. Search for GOOGLE MESSENGER not to be confused with FACEBOOK MESSENGER.
Google used the EXACT same name as Facebook.

There is no "Best". Personally I prefer one called 8SMS. But MOST people will be very happy with... hmmm, which one did I suggest?!?!?!

It is better than expected since coming from a droid RAZR maxx HD. I have a lot of neat apps ham radio police radio and more. Glad I got this and am still working on application coding.

Mine id going along very nicely. Under moderate use i get 1d 20hrs on battery which I find stellar after coming from a free iPhone4s I used for 2 years. (My glorious Galaxy Nexus got crushed in a recliner). Still waiting for more info on the recently shown root ability and Lollipop.
