It's too late for this now but for future reference this is what I use:

EDIT: I just thought about it. You can install this now from the online market and you should be able to find your friends phone!! Or at least lock it down and mess with whoever stole it.

Well the latitudebmethod you do ahead of time. I know you were looking at an after the fact option but if you just setup latitude and forget about it itmight come in handy for things lost lost phones or allalebys
