Stuck in ClockworkMod Recovery

Let us know how it turns out. And after your up and running you should be able to use DroidMod updater or DroidRootHelper to get SPRecovery back if you so desire.

I'm stuck on the Blackdroid boot screen now, seems to be a loop just like before. I started in safe mode and it still says clockworkmod recovery. I just placed Blackdroid on my sd card is there a specific folder that it needs to be placed in? You mentioned the root folder where is that exactly

Works for me :(

The root of the sdcard is the beginning level, not within any folders. And you can only have 1 update.zip on the root at any one time so make sure it didnt get renamed. Should be update.zip when viewing the extension and everything. But if you are seeing the Ultimate Droid boot animation and its looping then I dont know what to say. If you are given the option make sure you wipe data during the install. Or go into the partition menus and clear all the partitions before applying the update.

im almost positive that if you get passed the m logo you are NOT in a boot cycle all that is happening is that you cleared everything and each time you load a new rom it has to recompile itself if you wait a few minutes it would probably have booted fine its just the first time you do it....also idk what you guys are doing an update.zip just get any clockwork nandroid for any rom and put it in the backup folder inside the clockwork folder and boot into recovery and use that nandroid

also if you the error you are getting with the nandroid is about the md5 then that was a problem with creating the backup where it wouldnt even make the md5 file but it is fixed now and if you use a nandroid that the dev made it should work anyway

I rebooted from safe mode at 12:13 It is showing the blackdroid image for a while then going black and to the blackdroid image repeatedly. The Motorola image only showed up at the beginning. Let's see what happens.

What does it matter if its an update.zip versus Nandroid? He was getting errors with the Nandroid restore so I suggested an alternative ;) I had the same situation with ClockWork and Nandroid a week ago and BlackDroids new update.zip format saved my ass so I suggested he try the same. Frankly I dont care how he does it as long as we get him up and running again.

Six minutes later the same thing is happening. Is it safe to say that its not working?

i thought if there were problems the nandroid clears everything and goes from scratch...and whenever i see a thread with rom install problems they always say to use the nandroid not the update.zip cause the update.zip causes the problems sometimes

That was correct until BlackDroid came out with his new update.zip format, it actually wipes before it installs. Nandroid does not wipe anything, just overwrites afaik.

im telling you just download the clockwork nandroid for the rom and put it in the clockwork>backups folder and just clear the partitions and try that its worked for me

looking on the cyanogenmod forum as a last ditch effort you can unroot then root with droid mod to flash recovery. It should get you out of the loop:

from cyanogen rom forum
Relax, here's a great tutorila on how to do it from soup to nuts.

I hope it gets you to where you want to be!

Ok after wiping all the partitions the blackdroid way did not work. So time to give this a try, where do i get the clockwork nandroid? Also, would I need the nandroid for cyanogen which is where I was trying to go, or droidmod which is where I was prior to problems, or blackdroid which is where I currently am? :icon_eek:

Quite the conundrum. Good luck!

I'm out for the night.
