I'm kinda lucky -- I have a friend I can take my PC to and use his broadband if I ever need to. 30-minutes one-way, but what the heck? Free broadband for the asking.
Sadly I live in the middle of nowhere and it's getting late so that's not a possibility. Maybe they are just having bad server trouble today and it will all be fixed tomorrow.
True that. I think I'm going to watch a movie. If I can't get it fixed myself tomorrow morning, I'm going to take it to Verizon and let them SBF restore it.
The guys in the back probably aren't savvy enough to do that. They might replace it, but they won't fix it, even though it'd take like 20 minutes. Makes you wonder who the heck is in charge of financial accountability over at VZW.
Actually from what I hear some vzw locations have a recovery tool in the back. Of course I heard it from someone here. Maybe droid does can chime in and let us know.
You'd need to verify that it was A) a corporate store and B) rated to do software upgrades. Even then it seems most of the people running the stores don't care enough to actually fix the phones. Still, you might get lucky!
The one at my local mall who I've had encounters with before has RSD Lite on one of their computers. I know, because I've messed up my phone once before and two of them argued over who had to go through the restore process since they were lazy.
That's... Interesting. Then again, those mall kiosks tend to be willing to do a LOT more than the actual stores. Is it an actual Verizon kiosk or is it independent?
