Talk Me Out of going to Blackberry

no customization...my bro has one it sucks he admires evrything i can do with my droid...

I dont know why but i want a blackberry tour i feel like it looks a lot nicer smaller lighter better for texting
Bad
smaller screen
Internet comfort
Why shouldnt i do it

If you need us to talk you out of it, your soul is already in danger of eternal damnation. :)

Because, according to your own signature, the Droid doesn't break a sweat, whilst the Blackberry gets a 2/10.

I am not sure if you have made up your mind - but I presently use a BB 9630 (Tour thru Sprint) for my work phone and I have a DROID for my personal phone....I use my DROID every chance I get - I like the slide out keyboard, the touch screen, being able to use my phone in portrait or landscape mode, the browser, the apps, customization based on my mood for the day etc....however the BB 9630 does have voice recognition with bluetooth and the XM/Sirius app but it is not enough for me to wanna give up my DROID...I will admit, I like being able to hook my BB to a Cradlepoint 3G/4G router for wireless access - so I guess my BB is good for something...LOL

With that said, it is your decision based on your needs and wants from a phone - good luck in your decision.

Frankly, I think you should make the switch. Just make sure you have enough in reserve to pay the restocking fee!

Mike

Had a storm 2 before the droid.
No you tube, hacks were not working well
BB internet browser belongs in a 3rd world country... slow as a turtle!
Call quality was better... droid is not bad either.
Verzion can't get the best BB, AT&T has it...
Visit crackberry .com and look at all the issues the poor slobs have every single day
BB= will my phone work in the next 5 "leaks"
Droid = How much cooler can it get!!
either way... good luck

What is a Blackberry ?
I have a Droid. Why would I look back?
Everything I couldn't do on a Blackberry, I can now do on the Droid.

Needless to say, the Apple iPhone 3GS is losing market share on a daily basis.

Android = Open System
Apple = I will inform you of the Applications I will allow you to run. LOL !!!

seriously? i left a BB bold 900, better than a tour, to get a droid. if you ONLY talk and text then a BB is tough to beat. i was paying for the data and never used it because the browser is ****, and any other program that uses data sucks too. a droid is much more than a phone, but a BB isnt much more than a phone although its a great phone.

All good points except the one I bolded. One could say the exact same thing if you look at our threads too. Matter of fact over at CB they do.

Internet Confort? The BB is slow when it comes to the internet. So you would rather go from an iPhone killer to a business aspect phone? =FAIL!

Buy it!

Use it!

Take it back later and get refunded if you don't like it.

I'm sorry gang, but I hate these threads, no offence to the OP.

Want to get one, go into a store and play with it for a couple of hours first, then decide if it meets your needs.

It doesn't matter even if the situation were reversed and you asked us to talk you into getting a Droid:

The only person who will know if it is "right" for you IS you.

We can tout differences up the wazoo, screen, performance, etc. But the above is what it all comes down to.

Now, that said, go play with one and come back and tell us what you thought of it compared to what you have. :)

Yup. Any discussion forum is going to have a lot of problem posts. That's the nature of them. Browsing around here, you'd think that getting duplicate text notifications was a huge ordeal, among other things (just look at all the posts about such a simple problem!). ;)

I can't stand them either. It's a subjective matter. It should be an individual's decision and not a popularity contest, IMO. Though I guess asking is handy if you're just trying to follow the "in" crowd. We're all capable of comparing the options and figuring out what matters and what doesn't matter to us. Even it is a bad decision, sometimes people need to deal with the consequences to learn.

IIRC, it's said that learning to walk is more learning to not fall. Some people take more falls to learn... :D

Seriously, though, there's nothing wrong with falling as long as you learn from it. In this case, worst case is you return the new device if you find that it was just a matter of the grass being greener on the other side.
