wow...this seems really easy if you use someones logo (like the jedi...yeha). Is it really as easy as just going into recovery and installing that zip?

Yes sir! You would want to read the install instructions for sure, but high level view is:

• put zip on sdcard
• reboot into recovery
• choose install zip from sdcard
• find zip
• install zip
• reboot

You will need to read up on and install Rom Manager and Clockwork recovery.
