I see lots of talk about the Razr and Galaxy Nexus. Anyone interested in the HTC Rezound. Costco had it for $50 bucks yesterday. Almost picked one up.
Just talked to a verizon rep and all I have to do to be grandfatherd in is bring the razr (third line) into verizon to get a new sim card and they will do a device switch...otherwise I wouldn't have the unlimited...but the sim card will be free to me

Well, that just goes to show you, half the people you talk to at verizon are completely incompetent. Guess I'll be pulling the trigger too for the wife's phone. I will be calling the phone center store today to confirm, but I am only fearful of one last thing. Amazon has it's own contract obligation, and it says you must keep the phone active with no plan changes and in good standing for 181 days to avoid $250 chargeback from them and that's aside from the 2 year contract obligation with Verizon which starts at a $350 termination fee, and reduces by $10 per month. My plan was to stay on the plan and phone number activated with Amazon for the 6 months, and then flip-flop the phone back to the original number and grandfathered data plan. All the people I spoke at to at Verizon said you can't do this. One more call today to the store may clear this up.
Nothing about it really floats my boat...looks like any other htc phone to me...didn't really get sold on the whole "beats by dr. Dre"...not a big fan of his anyways...lol

Well the point I was trying to make to the rep was that since I signed a contract before july 7th of this year then all the phone lines under my name should be "grandfatherd" in. All I got was " well since its a new device it can't be. I was like ok ill go elswhere...then all of a sudden I could fix it by switching the lines around I.E. taking my droid 2 and replacing it with my razr on the droid 2 line....lol

I hear you, but if you read the following, you may see that there is the ability to whack you for the $250 by Amazon...
[h=1]AmazonWireless Instant Discount Policy[/h]When you purchase your device with service from AmazonWireless.com, we automatically pass along an instant discount from the carrier to you. This discount has been provided to you based on your agreement to (a) activate a new, or extend an existing, line of service for this device with the carrier, and (b) maintain this service in good standing for a minimum of 181 consecutive days. If you do not activate or extend a line of service in connection with this device, or if your service is canceled/disconnected before 181 consecutive days, AmazonWireless.com will charge you $250 per device, plus applicable taxes.
**This leads me to believe what I was told by several reps from both Amazon and Verizon. The key phrase is "in connection with this device". This can be interpreted to mean that if you change the line "in connection with this device" you will be charged. Also, Verizon told me they couldn't move the unlimited data line from one phone number to another, as it seems the Verizon rep did for you. I hope you're Verizon store rep was right. I am ordering the wife's phone sometime between now and Monday.
I will be calling MY Verizon Phone Center Store both today and Monday (when the REAL manager and reps are working) to confirm what you have discovered or have been told.
