The Complete Jellybean Thread

Can someone give me a quick Cliffnotes version of whats supposed to be better abut JB than ICS?
Are there new features that im not seeing?

I stupidly allowed the update to run and so far the update seems terrible. My phone is a mess.
-the shift key issue. wtf? how can verizon push this with such a major known issue? i did everything form the other thread (uninstall Chrome update, reboot, check input, etc) and the issue keeps resurfacing at random
-auto correct/auto punctuate keeps turning back on by itself, even though I keep switching it off
-now the volume rocker button is sporadic. sometimes from vibrate mode I click up once and it turns the volume up to full, sometimes it randomly jumps 2-3 levels with 1 click.
-camera still sucks. there is tons a of lag between pushing the shutter button and capturing the image
-now the gallery is a pain to use. now the newer images are to the left and older ones to the right... completely unintuitive and opposite of any other gallery app ive ever used.
-keyboard back lighting still does not work correctly (shuts off in darkness and stays on in lighted areas)
-still no convenient way to quickly create a folder
-cannot rearrange bookmark icons in the browser
-during a call, often times the screen still turns off after any key press on the dial pad.
-still no way to clear voicemail notification without listening to every single message.

so is there anything that this update DID fix, or anything that it actually improved upon?
i can't seem to find anything

-FDR

-Reboot

I am not sure if this is the correct thread for this question but it is related to JB. Is there any way to stop the update from installing? It downloaded 2 days ago and ICS jacked my phone up enough and don't want to make it worse. I don't currently have a computer to root it, otherwise I would take the update and go back to Gb. Regardless I just want to stop the update from installing. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

You can't go back to GB if you are on ICS and taking the update to JB will make it so you can't go back to ICS or GB.
If ICS made your phone worse, did you ever Factory Reset or even better fast boot the stock ICS image?

My phone isn't rooted and hasn't been. I am on a replacement phone. Razr maxx. I left it stock when I got it still had overheating issues, poor battery life. I thought that if I were to root it I could go back to Gb. I haven't kept current with all things involved with rooting since I got this phone so forgive my lack of knowledge on it. I did do a factory reset on my current phone. Several cache wipes also. I didn't fast boot the stock ics imagine. I am familiar with doing that to be honest.

overheating could be from bad charger, charging port, battery, software....
if you using same charger for maxx, that should be ok
try the droid 4 ics utility or jellybean utility to flash recovery .xml files
links to both in my list

I will try thank you. It doesn't overheat from charging but I think I get what you are saying. One thing I noticed yesterday while I was charging it. It was at 93 percent then it jumped to 100 percent. Thought that was odd. Don't know what to think about that.
