The Disappointment Thread

Here are some photos taken with the G-Nex vs the iPhone 4S... 5MP vs 8MP... I'm not surprised who the winner is here.

Camera disappointment should not even be a factor.

Also, here is a nice comparison of the displays of 4 different phones. The Glaxay Note(same display as the G-Nex just bigger), the SGSII, iPhone 4S and the HTC Titan.

To me it looks like the G-Note and G-Nex will have crisper displays than the SGSII, iPhone 4S and HTC Titan, so the Super AMOLED HD display shouldn't really be a disappointment either IMO.

Not sure why everyone is disappointed about a pure Google phone with a large, gorgeous display, good internals and mind blowing camera. I'd say the G-Nex has the iPhone 4S beat. So what it's using a GPU from 2007, once we get the CPU clocked to 1.5ghz or OC'd people will be once again wiping the drool from their bottom lips and cursing at the iPhone 4S while thinking to themselves "What was I thinking doubting this device? It's way better than the iPhone 4S!"

i dont know why I just thought of this... with the dual core phones my assumption was that there were two processors each running 1.2 ghz, or whatever the specs are. Is that right or is it two lesser cores that each run at 600? Sorry if my head isnt working right, I just had surgery weds and the meds are getting to me

Simpler version:

There are 2 cores, inside one CPU.

Both cores run at the same speed.

Their speeds aren't added together to create a speed, they both run at 1.2ghz and perform tasks separately.

ok much more sense! Dont some programs utilize both or would that be inefficient?

All depends on how the programs are optimized. Here is the most basic example of how multi-core functions: One core could be running the operating system, while the other core is running the program you're currently using. This way, your program has an entire core to run on, preventing the CPU from getting bogged down.

This will eventually work very well with Android because once all of our software and apps are optimized for multi-core functionality, each app you open will jump to which ever core is not being used, allowing each one to run as fast as it possibly can.

Looks like the HTC Rezound for me, 1.5 dual core cpu, removable micro sd card, 8 megapixel back and 2 megapixel fron cameras, 4.3" 1280x720 (720p) screen, plus already an extended battery for sale, and the best UI, Sense.

I have been tired of waiting since the Bionic my og Droid is running better since i re rooted it but the G-Nexus is sexy and its a Nexus on Verizon if you cant trust that you should just go get an iphone.

My OG is no longer taking calls =(

Give me a Nexus NAOW

Just upgrade to ICS... all you do is remove the back plate, take out battery, unwrap ice cream sandwich, shove said ice cream sandwich into the battery slot, put battery back in, put back plate back on, power up, put your Droid in the microwave for 30-60 seconds until sparks start flying from it and microwave explodes and you're upgraded to ICS. Warning the update is only in the ALPHA state so there may be bugs.
