The First Thing That Comes To Mind (Game)

My vehicle is 4wd Ford Explorer. Came with low profile tires on 20" rims real bad in snow even with 4 wd that first winter. Wanted Blizzaks and they came max 18". Had to be put on separate rims. Last summer, I noticed I needed more tires for the summer after the past one was over. When I put my snows on last Oct, I got new snows and didn't want to take them off this past spring and buy new radials. So I decided to stay with the snows which are better in water, snow and ice. Better ride all year round. So that's why I have snows year round. They'll last about 3 years and I get new ones again. Everything's a trade off and this makes me happy

LOL, when I read snow tires I first thought studded tires... (that's how my dad setup his explorer up here in Idaho...)
But snow tires and studded are different...

Here in Idaho, studded after a certain date would be ticketable or at least least a warning...

I actually don't know if they're allowed in Southern Idaho...

@cerisecons studded only allowed Nov-May here. I don't have studs on mine. In southern Idaho they probably do allow them but not till a certain date and you'll have to check that out where you are. You will get snow there for sure even in southern Idaho. Get ready... Sometimes early October[emoji3587][emoji3063]

Yes, I know we will, and I'm told it doesn't typically stick for long.
More like my brothers place in Sandpoint Northern Idaho, their typical is 1-2", and gone the next day. Definitely cold at night.
My truck will fair pretty well w/o any alterations, but wife's car... Probably going to change that after the first cold/snow...

The word I hear, from my brother, in ID since 96, the valley were the cities are, along the 95, is considered the banana belt, for its milder than otherwise areas winters. It's between 2 mountain ranges, and gets away with milder snow conditions.
Now there are winters where they get whacked... Over 12 feet in 96' and hit in other years as well, but it's rare. The internet says 60" average a year for Sandpoint, and under 20" for Boise...
My project is in the Coeur d'alene area, showing under 30" yr all with about the same days per inch of snow, so it looks like the average snowfall per storm is 0 to 1" + or -...

@cerisecons I had no idea that there were areas in ID that didn't get tons of snow! I learn something every day [emoji16][emoji16] Have a good night [emoji286][emoji286]
