The "New" New Phone Rumor Mill

Oh, you bought a Razr Day 1 you say? Oh it's only a couple weeks old you say? Oh, it's already last generation you say?

“DROID RAZR Maxx” Finds Its Way Into Verizon’s System

Scumbag Verizon - Tells you you are buying the latest and greatest that will last you the next 2 years, pushes out a better version of the same phone a month later.

Well I wouldn't blame Verizon for this, they're just making money and that's all they're there for. I'd be more upset at Motorola, delaying the Bionic 8 months, releasing the RAZR a month later and now this RAZR MAXX crap haha...its getting ridiculous

Very true... as long as the OEMs are going to keep feeding them devices, why not sell them!

So I'm debating on the future of this thread/section and have a few ideas and would like those of you still subscribed to weigh in and give your opinion on it. The reasonable paths forward that I see are:

  1. Continue this thread as it has been and keep recycling the top posts with new devices as we hear about them.
  2. Start a clean new thread and repeat the process for the next cycle of top tiers
  3. Make an independent thread for each rumored device plus a "General Rumor Discussion" thread in which the top post has the info from the original post here plus links to each of the rumored device threads (with this, once a device has an established sub-section, the thread would be closed in here with a re-direct to a copied thread over to the appropriate section so that people following said device don't have to start over their discussion there).

I like 1. We should keep it how it is and keep recycling the first couple posts. i don't wanna go to 4 different threads about 4 different rumored devices. This thread is convenient because all the info is in one place. Once a device is established and released it gets its own sub forum in the site anyway...if they each have their own sub forum then IMO their will be a lot of useless threads because its rumored so no one actually knows a whole lot other then speculation. I thought that this was one of the reasons what this thread created for...making the speculation in one area? if you change from that then itl run wild again.
and definitely not number 2, imo thats just not good in any way. its cool for the first 10min till the first page gets filled i guess not really after that though. it could be that im used to large threads though. After the whole nexus ordeal i kind of am used to reading large threads. i like it large, it adds to its importance and shows its had some time under its belt.

How come post #5 says Reserved and #4 & #6 says Placeholder? OCD=Mind blowing up right now.
Rofl to the conversation below those posts btw, got a chuckle out of me. :D

I like 1 and 2. If you were to do 2, mark the different threads by putting the year at the end of the title of the thread?

I say #1 or #2. I think we should go with #1 and stay on this thread for the nostalgic value! ;). #2 Would be OK too, but I definitely don't like #3! ;) If someone shows enough interest in a particular phone, then you can start up a custom thread! :)

Truss, Money - long time no see!
