The "New" New Phone Rumor Mill

I hope some disgruntled exce leaves Verizon in the next month or so and spills the beans to some reporter about what really happened with this while G-Nex release

That would be nice. Still haven't gotten a clear answer as to what happened.

I like 1 and 2. If you were to do 2, mark the different threads by putting the year at the end of the title of the thread?

that was similar to my idea, start a new rumor thread for each year. Or stick with number 1 and see how quickly we can hit 100,000 posts on this one thread!

"Super AMOLED Plus HD display" At some point, we need to just call it something else and just stop adding words to it. Just saying. Im calling the next one "Super Awesome Amoled Plus ultra HD 3d display" How did i do? At this point id be cool with it if they just called it something else.

Going the way of street fighter and even behr paint.. Lol behr pure plus premium ultra paint i was like man this must be some good paint lmao.

I used to live in this thread. I think this is the first time I've been back since I got my G-Nex. I'm definitely interested in upcoming phones, but now that I have my G-Nex, I have zero desire for anything else. It'll definitely be interesting to see what manufacturer's do with quad core tech.

I'm in pretty much the same boat. I have much less of a "need" to keep up this thread, but I really like the idea and knowing that it helps others is why I keep it going now

You still rolling stock or did you take the plunge yet?

Still in the stock boat. I think I'm going to GummyNex, but so far I haven't had a big enough window where I could sit down and run a full TiBu and CWM backup, flash, and start resetting everything back up.

Uptil now I've been pretty reckless with using TiBu. I need to put a little more time into researching what exactly each of the times are that I backup and restore and if I really want them on my fresh clean ROM.

Nice, you can't go wrong with GummyNex. I've run a few different roms and it's by far the best. If you need any help with cpu settings, I've got some that work pretty well.

I will definitely hit you up when I finally decide to drop the hammer.

Hey, I forgot to ask - did you take advantage of the offer from Diztronic? They're replacing their first gen covers for a slightly revised version with a better volume rocker cover, free of charge. I got mine last night and it's much better. Fits great with the extended battery. I know you purchased the same one I did, I just wanted to give you a heads up in case you hadn't heard about this. They also included their revised screen protector as well - it now covers the entire front glass (no gap around the bezel).

I had no idea... how do I go about claiming said replacement??

^ I'll be grab'n the gummy pretty soon here. Reading on what the rom includes sounds exactly like the old DX roms he made and I loved those! Oh, and I'll never stop checking this thread! :)

After some investigating, I found this thread: TPU/Diztronic Case Replacement
Which lead me to their website where I read this:

1/4/2012: We will be cutting off ordering for revision 3 Galaxy Nexus cases within the next 24 hours in preparation for CES. Inventory will be available for order on Amazon.com while we are gone.

and this:

If you are contacting us about a replacement for a revision 1 Galaxy Nexus Case unfortunately we cannot accommodate anymore replacement requests until January 16th. If you emailed us on Jan 3rd or earlier we are working hard to respond to all requests. Requests made after the 3rd will unfortunately not be able to be addressed until we return from the CES 2012 Convention on Jan 16th. If your order was shipped by Amazon you may wish to return the case to them for a refund and re-order a revision 3 case directly from them. They will have revision 3 inventory in stock for Matte Black and Matte Smoke sometime between 1/6 and 1/9, and all other styles between 1/10 and 1/12. When returning to Amazon please make sure you select "defective" as the return reason so they do not put the older revision cases back into inventory. Amazon also will pay return shipping on the return. Please accept our apologies for this inconvenience.

And since I'm impaitent and the cases only cost a couple bucks, I just went and ordered this:
Amazon.com: Diztronic Matte Back Translucent Smoke Flexible *Revision 3* TPU Case & Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy Nexus (SCH-i515 & GT-i9250) [Diztronic Retail Packaging]: Cell Phones & Accessories
and this:
Amazon.com: SAMSUNG GALAXY NEXUS BLACK TPU GEL SKIN CASE, IN QUBITS RETAIL PACKAGING: Electronics

Besides, I wasn't sure if you had to give back the first one and I had already made my own "Volume rocker hole" with a hobby knife.

Email them here: support@tpu-cases.com

Just state that you're having issues with your volume rocker and that you heard they were offering to replace the affected cases because of this. Tell them which case you purchased, the date, and your Amazon order number.

I did this and they emailed me back within 4 hours to tell me a replacement was on the way. Included was the revised case and larger screen cover. I've yet to install the new screen cover, but it's significantly larger and covers the screen edge to edge. Diztronic is a classy company - I'm glad they're doing this for their customers.

Also, if you don't want the revised case, ask them about the other revision. It's supposed to have the entire volume rocker cut out, just like the power button side. I'm not sure if they're available yet, but they're making them.
