★ The Official 2012 NFL Season Thread ★

Looks like Kaepernick is not the 2nd coming of Joe Montana after all. :frown:

Back to Alex.

 Can't believe this game is going into ot. Not too happy with my niners right now.

Way to go Seahawks!
I'm sure packer fans will be whining again about how the game ended, even though they weren't even playing the Seahawks.

Cause they're 2 of the most dysfunctional teams in the league that need a fresh start. Unless Eagles pick up a great HC with some good asst coaches, looks like Eagles are going to be off the map again next season.:frown:

I'm just glad the Jets are as dysfunctional:D

TV market share and sensationalism.
Until the doomsday scenario happened yesterday I didn't understand what the big deal was that Tebow was out. I still think Ryan wouldn't have taken Sanchez out if Tebow was in uniform. It would just feed the press monster all the more.
Until Reid is gone in Philly the press will continue to make a big deal there as well.
What I don't understand is the number of guys still leading with their helmets in tackles. It won't make the press but there'll be tens of thousands handed out in penalties again this week, most to tackles that didn't get flagged. At some point the men need to figure out it's the newest no no in the league, especially with conclusions being the topic off every third story.

TV market share? lol.. yes its a NY team... I live in NY... but most weeks when the jets are on CBS.. they broadcast a different game on fox.. they almost never if ever do that to the giants... and people leading with helmets or launching is the most talked about penalties in the game today..... I too doubt they would've put tebow in but next week they should start him vs the jags... signing mark Sanchez this year was the dumbest move they made in recent years... and I'm guessing when you typed conclusions you meant concussions lol

dysfunctional is a compliment lol... they were two teams that were "supposed" to be playoff bound by now and are highly underachieving along with many other teams but if they're gonna focus so much on teams that won't make it.... there is plenty others lol

Yeah dysfunctional is going easy on them, but I'm not risking getting banned for how I truly feel:D

Thing is they focus on them because both these teams were in a "win now" situation. Plus you had two QBs who for the second year in a row, didn't live up to expectations and did even worse. I was livid when we signed Vick to a long-term contract because I had a feeling it would end up like this. The only reason he had so much success during his comeback year was because every team forgot how to play such an athletic QB, I knew they'd figure it out the next (last) season. This year he did worse and that can also be due to the fact our O-line were falling like dominoes, but it's mostly for his knuckleheaded thinking and extending broken plays.

Injuries, too many personnel changes, coaching changes, schemes, and overall sloppy play killed my Eagles this season. Hopefully they can have a fresh start with new coaches and get the franchise back to being at least a respectable team. I like Foles being part of the rebuilding process and possibly the future starting QB. He makes some rookie mistakes, as expected, but so far I like how he plays.

As for the Jets, I hope they don't figure things out as quickly. I'm glad Rex is finally being exposed for the knucklehead he really is. Took him this long to pull Sanchez:D

he was successful because the big plays worked... now they don't ... as mobile as he was he still was among the league leaders in getting sacked and its not because the o-line but more his arrogance that he thinks he has 10 years to throw it since he's fast and eventually someone gets him and now his body and brain is breaking down.... rg3 takes notes on how not to be a mobile qb lol

Wow the sports talk airways are all about wondering if kc should have cancelled the game last night. Tragic situation to the 3 month old child who no longer will have a parent in its life, the mother of the victim, the coaches and gm who witness the act.

Unlike Vick and Newton, RG3 knows how to read a defense. I've only seen him play maybe 3 times, but that guy is a very smart QB. He has the athleticism that Vick once had, but he is a much calmer player. He's had some "rookie moments", of course, but overall I think he'll be a great QB. Alot of people compared him the Vick and Newton coming in, but I think he plays smarter than those two ever did.

As everyone in the sports world has said, there's two sides to this situation. One, you've lost a teammate and a friend. The other, he can't be forgiven for taking another life before his own. It's really a situation that in any case, outside judgement loses. I do, however, think that the game should've been postponed out of respect for the organization, community, and the victim's family. To continue on as normally as possible as if it were a regular Sunday game is a bit disrespectful to me, it's a murder-suicide, not an unfortunate death due to illness or accident.

I wonder how the coach and GM feel. Witnessing a suicide is a traumatic event and even though they won, I wonder if the HC was in any condition to be on that sideline. The players are going through alot of emotions as well, whether to mourn their teammates passing or to be angry with him and his selfish acts. I can't even imagine what they're going through.

For me, I honestly don't know what to think. I've known people who were deep in depression who contemplated suicide, and I'm thankful they didn't go that route, but it's very scary to see someone you know and care about go through that. So I wonder, did the player seek help at any point? Also, him taking his gf's life is to me, unforgivable. I don't know the reasons behind why he did it, and I don't think anyone ever will, but to me there is no valid reason for taking someone else's life. If it were just a suicide then there would be less confusion, but in this specific case, alot of people are left more confused than ever.

On a side note, the Denver Broncos won the AFC West and a spot in the playoffs.

so did the pats, falcons and texans lol... broncos look good but I don't see them getting out of the afc... they'll finish w a great record since 3 out of there last 4 games are vs teams w a combined 9-27
