so i'm bored stuck in a hotel for some work bs many states from home with nothing to do. really could have used a nexus to kill the time

thank you verizon.

Nexus... haha, you have us! Isn't that just as good as some silly phone? Hahah? Hahah!

*whisper* I keep telling myself that, anyways...

Okay so the 3G connection loss issue on the Droid X GB is really annoying me lately. I've heard of connection issues on 4G phones so I guess my question is are the two pretty much the same? Meaning, on the 4G phones do you completely lose data connection? Also, do you think they would release the Nexus with a problem such at that or if it even exists since it's a stock ICS phone?

The problem with 3G to 4G data loss is a network problem, so it will occur with any 4g phone. (disclaimer: it could also be the first generation 4G LTE chips being used)

I haven't heard of the Droid X data loss problem with 3G, did it just happen when you got GB?

Yea, I'm pretty sure it happens on all GB roms. It even happened on my Droid 1 to an extent. The only one that I have run that does not have the problem was MIUI for a while. The dev who was working on it a few months ago figured out the problem and fixed the code. Now I'm on Liberty and it happens quite a bit.

So the 4G problem is just toggling between 4G and 3G....not a total data connection loss?

Im getting insane from this nexus wait. Im thinking about going to Craigslist and buying a stratosphere for 200 then ill have it til the nexus. Then id have a head start on D4 as well, since my parents are getting me the nexus id really have two phones. one with and without a keyboard. :happy3: The problem with that is probably the stratosphere will get cheaper when d4 drops and d4 will take some time to hit the $300 outright buy mark. oh the possibilities. :frown:

Random, I know, but has anyone with smallish hands handled the phone? I am worried it will be too big for my hands. 4.65 inches is a lot.

I got inpatient myself tried the iPhone 4s oh that was a bad idea so I traded it for a razr and I am sure this will hold me over for now!

Sent from my DROID RAZR using DroidForums

i heard from a buddy of mine that also into phones, that a guy at his job couldn't wait, got a razr and a bonic from his wife. all was good till the razr locked up, as all android phones tend to do at some point. so he walked over to my buddy since he's another phone guy. to see if he had any ideas since you can't do a battery pull. they did a quick search and you gotta hold the power button and vol or something like that, it rebooted, but wouldn't connect back to the network, had to use someone elses phone to call verizon to reset something so it worked again.

don't know if there's a trick they didn't know. but that seems like a very bad idea to have a non removable battery on a os that can hang from time to time without a good way to force a reset.

I'm still using my OG, so I can't verify this.

As I've read it, the problem is once the 4g phone tries to either transition down to 3g or up to 4g it loses data completely and you have to either hit airplane mode, or power cycle.

Apparently this doesn't always happen, but it does happen. I've read it happens with the Charge, Bionic, Rezound and Razr. Some people don't seem to have the problem at all, others have it occur every day.

I have read some people who got the Bionic update recently have seen an improvement in their data loss, but this was maybe 2-3 people so definitely not enough to verify the problem is software related.

My guess is the 4G towers are still causing some issues between data transitions.

last few times 4g has been out in my area, my buddy's bolt as been stuck with 1x can't even force 3g. they had a app that opens up the settings that allow you to force it into 1x, 3g or 4g or auto. while my d1 never has any issue with 3g.

so it could be the bolt, but i don't know. somehow 4g seems to effect 3g on these phones. all i know it he's very angry when it happens. lol.

It's narrower than the Razr. It has a really small Bezel, which is very nice! :) It's really not as big as you'd think because the screen just takes up the space where the buttons would be! :)

I'm not sure what they we're thinking when they made the Razr, its too wide for my hand and I've only met a couple people that actually have hands bigger than mine! :)

Swyped and sent through the interwebz directly to you from somewhere and some device that doesn't concern you!

I'm tempted to make a Galaxy Nexus signature myself. I made one a while back when I was an iPhone fan boy.. so, similar style.

Go to phone-size.com. An awesome website that will show you actual sizes of phones next to each other. Don't forget to put your monitor specs in at the top for true actual size. Works perfect.

Why would you want 2 phones? I don't understand.
