I'm going to be traveling that day for a meeting in Philly at 10am. Going to try to get their early so I can make a stop at a local verizon store around there to pick one up. If not, I'll grab one after my meeting in early afternoon. I feel pretty confident they wont be sold out. Oh yea....I forgot the ginormous IF it gets released that day comment...

I wonder if Verizon will be more inclined to stick to the rumored 15th launch date now that some Nexi (that's what was decided the plural should be right?) have been released into the wild by Best Buy, Radio Shack and even a Verizon store.

I think the plural of 'Nexus', is still "Nexus"...

Samesies. If they are planning on releasing it on the 22nd like the other rumors say, I will be forced to walk into there wearing my birthday suit, because the 22nd is actually my birthday. (21st birthday =] )

No way it releases on 22nd, too close to Christmas. It's either the 15th or January sadly.

I think the legal implications of releasing a phone with an app withheld for competitive reasons is far worse than with holding the launch of the phone because of the issue. Whether ISIS is on the market yet or not, if VZW doesn't allow it on the device and Google claims it is to prevent competition, it is a breach as soon as the device hits the market. On the flip side if they allow the app on the device "for now" pending the results of the legal battle, I assume it would make it that much easier to put it back on the device in the future if/when VZW actually pulls it. Additionally, the 98% of the public that has no idea what is going on while have a substantially "louder" opinion about an app that they had and liked but disappeared than one they never even knew they were missing out on.

I guess my point was that ISIS isn't even off the ground yet, and probably won't be for 6 months or more. And from what I've read, Verizon is claiming that "security" is why they don't want wallet on the phones. I am not familiar with the security issues and how google resolved them, but I find it difficult they would face possible legal action to restrict wallet when their product is still in the design stages. So maybe they are concerned about security?? Don't know, just doubt it's to put ISIS on the phone while restricting wallet (since there will be many more phones out between now and when ISIS is ready).

My thinking is the delay is more about trying to get 4.1 ready to go on right after activation, along with the 4g issues they've been having. Just my thoughts tho.

Only reason I don't agree with this is that there have been 3 or 4 cases now of Corp. Stores saying the date is the 15th. If they didn't actually anticipate this happening because of continued legal issues, they would still be sticking with the "No new info at this time" line.

Remember last week...? When they were all saying the 9th? Including the 'Coporate' stores, and the online customer service girl I called at *611!

good luck on that final! Luckily i still have another year b4 college finals . waiting for more decisions from schools now and the wait is even worse then the galaxy nexus date. I send in an app due december 1st, receive a decision march/april for some schools.

And I maintain that just because it isn't true now does not mean that it wasn't true when the were saying it... things can change... all we can do is go off the most recent information, which at this point says it is the 15th...

Not planning on anything big. The girlfriend is just bringing me to the local pool hall, buying me drinks, and DD-ing. Best girlfriend ever =P
