Wow, congratulations! An LG Dare! I upgraded to the OG Droid after the LG Voyager almost 2 years ago. I was always envious of Dare users though when I had the Voyager. That envy passed after I got the Droid though.
After reading all the positive comments about the Pentile display, maybe I should rethink shunning it so. In sunlight, it's hard to see the screen on my droid, but it's doable. Perhaps the fact that the screen is so bright compared to the OG Droid may outweigh the pixelated look.
Haha, I was actually looking at the Voyager but ended up holding out for the Dare release. Continued using that phone way past it's shelf life. lol.
Ya, the Bionic screen is awesome outdoors under direct sunlight. I do a lot of hiking, kayaking, camping, and outdoors stuff in general so being able to read the phone w/o having to shade it with your hand or shirt is great.
Maybe it's cause I'm coming from the LG Dare, but the screen on the Bionic looks great to me and I have perfect vision / don't wear glasses. I usually hold the phone about a foot away from my face for everything I do on it. There is a noticable honeycomb pixelization grid in the unlock screen and I can also see it in the battery icon if I hold it very close to my face and focus on it but otherwise, the screen seems fine. My homescreen wallpaper, icons, internet browsing, and app screens all look sharp and clear.

Just got mine at radio shack for 199! So excited, trying not to unplug it lol. New to motorola, any must have widgets/apps I should know about?

Finally got mine last night. As everyone else says, this thing is stupid fast!
I only see the screen dots every so often. It's almost like whatever is on the screen wasn't done rendering yet. I don't see it all of the time. It's really not a huge issue for me.
Love the phone so far.

This is what I use & it works great on the Bionic!
I've had my Bionic a few days now & I absolutely LOVE it! It was worth the wait to me! I know everyone has their own opinion but I think they're NUTS if they say the screen is bad!! It is absolutely gorgeous to me! No pixelation on mine, the camera works GREAT! No it's NOT an SLR but it's a DAMN phone! I took some low light pics in a bar the other night & they came out fine. Friends with their crackberry's were trying to get their camera's to work when I just hit the icon & it booted in an instant! All their eyes were just poppin!!
I am wondering if maybe they made different batches of phones & some batches had bad screens? I ordered mine over the phone from Verizon & got their online discount of $50. Mine came out of Pennsylvania...maybe some locations just got bad batches...I have noticed quite a few complaints from those that got their's from Cosco..maybe if we all post where we got it from when we post our review a pattern will start to form?
Now I am just waiting to the 3rd parties to make some accessories cheaper than the Verizon store...if they would just lower their prices a bit I would buy from them in an instant!!
FWIW, Cruzer Lite (sells through Amazon) just made a bunch of TPU cases available in different colors through Amazon. Bought from them before and I really like their cases, and the prices are good as well (all under $10 each). I don't believe the cases will fit the Bionic with the extended battery though.
