★★★ The "Official" I got my DROID BIONIC Thread ★★★

My x died on me last night...went by to see what new phones were out and found the bionic. Didn't even know they were out. Seems like a decent phone so far.

What rock have you been hiding under? lol

Swyped on my Droid Bionic, sent via Tapatalk. It's amazing what ones thumb can do!

Hey everyone! New to the forums. Got my Droid Bionic on release day and found my way here while looking up some questions on google.

This is my 1st smartphone, coming from a LG Dare that I had for quite awhile. After all is said and done, I ended up getting the Bionic for $149 dancedroid ($299 - $50 loyalty discount - $100 dumbphone to smartphone upgrade gift card) , and absolutely love it so far! Should have upgraded to a Droid smartphone a long time ago!

I got my Motorola Droid Bionic

I got my Bionic on Sunday after trading in my original Droid. I must say this is such a great upgrade. Like night and day! The speed is awesome and the display is everything I hoped it would be. I am so glad I waited to upgrade until the Bionic came out. I was almost ready to buy the Thunderbolt or the Droid Charge and decided to wait for the Bionic. My main reason for waiting was battery life, but the dual processors and Gingerbread clinched the deal. I haven't had much time to try all the bells and whistles yet, but I'll be putting it to the test in the next couple of days. Any iphone users chiming in with their 2 cents worth?

its cool i just figured out the bionic has the swype keyboard been wanting to try this for awhile now. the only problem i have is with the words like "sorry" with the two R's cant figure that out.

Wow, congratulations! An LG Dare! I upgraded to the OG Droid after the LG Voyager almost 2 years ago. I was always envious of Dare users though when I had the Voyager. That envy passed after I got the Droid though. :-)

After reading all the positive comments about the Pentile display, maybe I should rethink shunning it so. In sunlight, it's hard to see the screen on my droid, but it's doable. Perhaps the fact that the screen is so bright compared to the OG Droid may outweigh the pixelated look.

I too just went from the LG Dare to the Bionic. Got a stress crack inside my poor little phone so time to say goodbye. First got an iPhone - yeah, I know. Then got rid of it last night and got the Bionic. Its ok but having troubles with font sizes on apps like Facebook - so tiny I can't read and I can't tap or pull it bigger. What's up? Also the sounds thing is driving me crazy. Can't figure out how to stop all sounds while I'm at work ("silent" still triggers alarms and weird notification) and why isn't there a choice for "no sound" for notifications? I don't need to know when every freakin email arrives. Ugh. So not loving it 100%...yet.

I use an app called volume control, it has a sound toggle and it shuts everything up for me. Maybe give'r a shot!

Finally got everything up and running today. It was pretty quick and painless once I got the new SIM card. Sent a few emails back and forth with the guy that had been helping me and he got me set up in no time.

Absolutely loving the phone thus far. Few little quirks that I need to get used to, and the device isn't perfect, but it's a huge step up from my original Droid and feels a lot lighter in my pocket - something that I'm loving.

Haven't picked up on a lot of the issues people are having. Screen looks great to me. Sure, I can see some pixelation in certain light, but for the most part, I can't complain. Screen vision in the sun is fantastic. Haven't heard the hissing or squeal issue people experience with headphones, but I do get the clicking during calls on speakerphone. It usually happens when the person's voice trails off.

Notification light is in a strange position, but I'll get used to it. The blink is definitely a bit too slow, but for texts and calls I've got an app that allows me to speed it up, so no big deal.

Phone got pretty hot during my initial use, but once I switched to CDMA it quickly cooled down and hasn't gotten hot since.

Going on about 8 hours now on the battery, at 20%. I'm trying to kill it so I can get that initial charge cycle going.
