I downloaded Volume+ Pro but I don't see an option for the speaker. Do you have to be rooted?

For those of you that don't have the screen lock sound and touch sound currently, there is a fix for this. This is a fairly common issue with the current software settings on a lot of Nexus devices. For some ridiculous reason the system volume has been lowered nearly all the way down by default. Some devices are normal.

Anyway, to fix this download the app called Quick Settings. Open volume control and turn system volume all the way up to 7. Now you're good to go.

It's a software fix - no need to worry about hardware. Playing games the sound can be TOO loud. Playing video's is way soft.

The fact it's capable to playing loud means Google will get a fix out. That's why you bought the phone - it will be updated and fixed faster than any other phone.
