The Ultimate Droid 1.0.0 - Droid 1 Only

How do you go back to the stock kernel after installing a chevy kernel ?

I just rebooted into recovery and installed the slayher kernel from the OP. The one I used is version 1.6.

Thanks
There are several 1.6's ... Is it ?slayher_7x1000LV_v1.6.zip

That one may work fine but if you're not sure how high your phone can over clock you might want to download another kernel that is a step down in case you get a boot loop. That way you can just boot back into recovery and flash the lower speed kernel. Just a CYA thing.

I understand what you are saying. I really just want to put the stock kernel back on and I don't know whch one it is ? The OP's link has this
slayher_stock_v1.4.zip

Is that the stock kernel on UD 1.0.0 ?

Thanks

I'm sorry, I misunderstood your question. Honestly, I didn't check the kernel that was installed when I first flashed this ROM, so I'm not sure. I think that it is slayher 1.6 since this ROM was released on the 10th of this month, and those kernels were posted in August, but I could be wrong. Looking through the release notes doesn't provide any answers, but maybe someone else here knows for sure...sorry!

NP, thanks for trying to help. Looks like the slayer kernel link is broken anyways.

I just tried and it started to download...is this the link you are using?

Index of /slayher/kernels

I looked through the posts and I don't think that the stock kernel is slayher.

heard good things about slayers kernels. i used chevys and it was good. but like i said im using the stock one.

So it must be something else.

Have you considered re-flashing this rom over the top of your existing install? Since you are already using that rom you wouldn't need to wipe data. I would backup first, but in my mind that's the only way I can think of to get back to THE stock kernel.

Yeah, that's the link I used . Firefox says its broken. I was thinking of re-flashing, but Id rather just install the stock kernel if I can.

Thanks

so can I back up cache and data before install, wipe everything, then restore just cache and data, and it'll work fine? Don't really want to lose all of my text messages and some other settings.

You can try, but you might have issues

OK... Didn't know if anyone had tried it yet... I'll give it a try and report back.

Weird, the link is not broken when I go to it on my Droid, only on my PC is is broken.

Well, it worked, but I wasn't able to restore my network connections. tried going in to airport, rebooting, etc. Not sure what all I might have to do for it. Since I kinda sorta do need 3G, I'm just going to wipe. It was worth a try. If anyone knows an alternative or a fix, let me know.
