[Theme] 928Droid "Black Glass" 2.2 for Froyo - Update.zip - MetaMorph - Back to Stock

How about a Simply Stunning v4.4 non-transparent version?

Plan to offer an update.zip for each of the ROMs, to ad or remove the transparent version...as soon as I get thru making all the dialer buttons transparent :-)

Thanks! You're awesome.

It would be nice if themes were plug-and-play with any ROM and any kernel, like Legos.

You are a mind reader....I have an idea I have been working towards. :)

07/12/10 - 928Droid Black Glass 2.2 for CM6 RC1 now available !!!

Links and details in Post #1

Also includes the the cool transparent Dialer/Contact!! Credit for Transparency to Insaneneiviesis / Xeudoxus

I'm eager to test this out, but "Added Droid Notifications and Droid Boot Animation (instead of the Nexus Sounds/Animation)" concerns me. I like the CM6 boot animation and would rather not lose it or have to reflash it. Your theme looks fantastic and I'd love to flash it.

Sooo.. you would rather have Nexus One Boot animation and sounds on your Droid Phone instead of Droid stuff?? The only reason they were there is because the original CM6 Port is for a Nexus and is adapted for the Droid and they left the Nexus stuff in there.... and no one else thought or cared to add the Droid stuff back in.

In reality is just a boot animation zip file and some sound files, if you are Rooted you should be able to change it back to Nexus stuff if you like.

WE are Droid, prepare to be assimilated...dancedroid

The boot animation in CM6 is based on the N1 boot animation, but is slightly different. Got sick of staring at the boring red eye a long time ago. I'll probably flash your theme regardless because it looks light years better than stock and the white-gray of stock is giving me an eye twitch. Need to finish my CM6 battery life trials first though.

Correct, but how about one for the Droid, "but slightly different" :-) Why go to all the trouble to make such a comprehensive ROM for the Droid yet leave items from another phone on it. At least I added back in the "Droid" sound files :-)

Seriously, Bootanimations are a dime a dozen and are easy to swap out to what ever makes you happy. For my Theme I chose a Droid animation instead of a modified Nexus version.

The point is, if the bootanimation is keeping someone from trying a ROM or Theme I find that silly. If that was the case no one would use the Sapphire ROMs (which BTW kick butt)... HA HA, sorry guys, but it does need to be "modernized" a bit :-)

Is there any way to apply this only to the widgets (or maybe just the widgets that don't have their main app affected (ie not Music)) and the notification bar? No offense, but I don't really like the settings screens and such as much as the stock look, but I'd really like to get the widgets and maybe the keyboard.

I guess I'd just love to be able to pick and choose the .apk's I update. Would it make sense to backup system/app and then restore all the originals that I don't want?

Just open the update.zip as an archive with 7Zip and delete the apks you don't want to Theme before you apply the update.

Unfortunately is is impossible to make any Theme that EVERYONE likes EVERYTHING about it. My solution is simple, I make it the way I like it, share it with others and don't hold a gun to anyone's head to make them use it .. :icon_eek: BUT, I also happily give simple tips on how to change it to be closer to what you like. :)

Thanks, I guess some poking around would have made this simple. I certainly don't blame you for making it this way and can certainly see why many people would like it; and I certainly didn't expect you to rebuild something to my liking. Was just hoping there'd be a quick fix and I'm lucky there is, so thanks for the info and quick response, and thanks for at least building some stuff I want to use :p

Dave,

Love the theme, great work!

Flashed the update.zip on Sapphire 0.8.4

Now the settings in "GEM settings" for battery % overlay and status bar clock toggles
don't work. Can't turn on battery % overlay and can't turn off clock.

I haven't checked everything in .0.8.4 since others said it was working OK. Will download and verify/update everything for 0.8.4 this evening and will fix those issues. Thanks for letting me know!

BTW, it will help me keep things better organized if you post issues with each ROM in their respective Threads, i.e Sapphire issues in the Back Glass Sapphire thread. Makes my life easier and I only have to answer the same question in one place :-)

Hey, the the blue theme is that a Thunderbird icon on the dock at the bottom of the screen? Is that Thunderbird the app, the icon, or something that looks similar?

I got a boot loop after install off a fresh clean install of Simply Stunning 4.4 + MedV 1.1 kernel. I'm going to start over and this time fully set up SS4.4 before flashing the theme to see if it requires something to occur first in the ROM before the theme can apply.

One thing I noticed which was strange is that SPRecovery reported that the installation was complete before the progress bar had filled 100%.

yeah, SPRecovery seems to do that often, I've noticed that myself...sometimes the progress bar won't fill 100% even if you wait an hour...I don't think that's the problem... try flashing the rom, flashing the kernel, do all your setup, and after SS4.4 is ready, install the theme...
I'm not guaranteeing, but it worked for me this way dancedroid
