well, i am a pretty heavy texter, probably 1500-ish a month, so ya, that probably contributes to it.
i can learn to get over it, but it just seems like it shouldnt happen. i wish they would fix it so everytime i hit the back button in messaging i dont have to fear all my texts disapearing.

I've been averaging 1800 texts a month and I've never had this happen. The max I've had is 3000 texts then I deleted them for the heck of it. I use Google Voice so 99% of my texts are saved and searchable via Google Voice so I delete them all the time on my phone.

mine did this a few times also on stock rom stock messaging app. since i've been on a bugless beast 2.1 rom, i've had the issue maybe once or twice.

I'm a tech at Verizon. Any time I've seen this issue, I've found that its usually an app that contributes. 10001 Cocktails, My Day, Antivirus, and others seemed to be on so many droids that had issues, including this one.

Had my Droid since December. I text a ton (but have the stock app set up to autodelete old with a 175 message cap). Never had this happen a single time.... until 3 days ago. I was sending a text, tried to go back to my inbox right as another text came in... phone kinda lagged, and poof! All threads gone. Not any huge loss since I don't keep a ton of old texts and always make sure to save important stuff as I get it, but still annoying. Bone stock fyi.

Doesn't matter what it is. If I want it deleted, I'll delete it.

i know those can be the problem, but i dont have anything like it, them, and it happened to me when i was stock with absolutely nothing installed

yup, that is how it happens, hit back and boom, they're all gone. since you only keep 175 thats probably why it doesnt happen as much to you,. but it is pretty annoying

I've run every rom out there and been using my phone since Jan. Never had anything deleted that I didn't delete. Not to be a wise ass but why does everyone want to save their texts? Do y'all go back and re-read them or something?

I text alot, and its for work. Most of my work is done in hospital operating rooms, and taking and receiving calls is a no no. So most of the time communicating with the "outside" is done via texting or email. I have twice had my messages deleted which was a huge pain. Associates text me addresses, PO#'s for orders, problems, repairs that need to be sent in, contacts at other accounts. So, yes some of us need to keep our old text's, and would like to delete them when we want. This has not been a huge problem for me, only twice since December, but when it happened, I was not happy.
