Thunderbolt Update

Plus, just found out the MR2 update isn't coming today.

Actually, I also don't know what would happen if you did accept since you're rooted.

Should I just decline? If I'm pre-MR1, I shouldn't be getting one or two reboots a day. Unless pre-MR1 DID have reboots as well. i checked every day for the last week and a half with no updates until that update that randomly popped up before I went to bed at 3:30 EST this morning.

i'm also curious about flashing this over what I'm running now. had this thing since day one (literally) then flashed the leaked OTA that was leaked in April or May.

You can just flash the MR2 radio I believe - I would check some threads for whatever ROM you're running. Definitely do some homework before taking action.

Yeah. thanks for the advice. i'm running stock ROM but i can unroot through adb or one of the other methods then flash the MR2 leak. i'm still wondering what this update is. How big is the MR2 leak?

Edit/update: the software update in question is 35.649mbs. i might have made a slight mistake earlier.

There are a few MR2 ROMs available - check the hacks subforum here. You can get the "Plain Jane" totally stock ROM if you wish.

i would but would the gapps installed update when there is an update available? Or will they be like some heavily modified ROMs that stay at a certain version untl the developer decides to update them.I like being able to choose my updates and whatnot, even if i'm running a certain ROM. this dillemma derailed me from trying certain ROMs back on the DROID.

update: I'm running the rooted OTA mentioned in this thread

Decline...I accepted and it is the old update. Back to reboots for me.

Sent from my ADR6400L using DroidForums

Alright. Thanks tc. i might just jump to the leaked mr2 since that's what i did with the version i'm running now.

Update: Just don't know if I really want to go with the leaked OTA even though I've been doing that with upgrades for the D1 and DROID Pro. i usually wait until someone drops the zip file here or Droid-Life to keep it safe; then I usually get the leaked/dropped OTA with root available.

when will we get gingerbread???

no clue but the mR2 OTA leak (which is VERY tempting to return to stock and flash) may be the stepping stone we need before they hand us gingerbread. i honestly bet they wanted to fix the random reboots before giving us the gingerbread OTA. It's near the end of Q2 so we just have to wait.

I, on the other hand, am willing to lose root to have that new radio. I've heard a lot about it. only thing I'd be losing is root, the custom kernel by Adynalyne and the ability to over/underclock. Other than these, i'm willing to live with the bloatware until the Verizon officially drops MR2 through OTA and there is a way to root and S-Off.

Edit/update: both the image to revert to stock and the MR2 OTA leak are being downloaded. TheMR2 leak finished downloading.

Why do people think they need to lose root to get MR2?

YOU DON'T

I recommend people do some reading over at xda-developers. Everything you need is over there.

No. i KNOW you don't need root. i'm saying I like the would like there to be an option of having root with the stock mr2. i unrooted and flashed the mr2 leak. I know you don't need root.

Edit: been reading about it on XDA for awhile. i just like an option of HAVING root capabilities with the stock ROM.

That's why I was suggesting the "Plain Jane" from Wozzy's thread. From what I understand it's totally stock (including all bloatware), rooted, with the new radio. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
