Thunderbolt vs. Bionic

My heart is set on the Atrix when and if it comes to Verizon.

I like the whole docking feature, I don't know why but I can see it being very useful in many of my situations.

The Atrix will prob be att only and the docking is a feature of it.

Vzw is getting the bionx which does not have this.

I think it is hilarious. It just seems like when you buy a phone, it is obsolete in like 2 weeks LOL!! I was on a site today and was I was looking at all the new phones and it is just incredible how many there are. I just cannot believe I just got a Droid 2 and now there is like 2 or 3 new Droids? When does it end?

I am curious as well

I would like to know which way to go in general. I have the Droid :motdroidvert: and have had no issues what so ever. I'm not thoroughly versed in it, but have used several roms with no issues.
I may not even part with it, just would like to know.

I work in construction, and sand gets every where. I don't really need a keyboard, it just gets full of dust.

Thoughts, suggestions, input? I can upgrade without hassle in March.
Thanks.

Nvidia along with Intel and AMD are creating the most powerful processors on the planet . They have the best engineers and experience to create the best architectures . From the first reviews from CES , Tegra 2 is three times faster than any other processor out there .

Some of you SOUND like you're being FORCED to get a '1st Quarter 2011' phone...being patient will be pay off. 1GHZ and 3G (what I currently have on my Droid X) is running PERFECTLY smooth..lovin' it.

I have a spare upgrade from another line, that I can just waste on one of the CES phones..but waiting for another 4.3" screen (can't go backwards after the Droid X), Dual Processor (but not even needed), front camera and back camera, and NOT the Thunderbolt, is what I'll be doing.

Good for you X but I have the first Droid which is now completely slow and crappy. Yes, I can delete programs and speed it up but then whats the point.

It's time for an upgrade and I hate moto. My wife has the X and I can't count how many times it crashes and reboots itself. I had to trade in the Droid 4 times before I got one that didn't have a sensor problem. Moto blows as mush as Apple.

go with an LG, Samsung or HTC then. You have many options.

I just read a spec comparison in another post and i must say the atrix is not all i expected.

I agree. I dont think the 512mb ram is a HUGE issue like everyone is making it out to be... Think about these things:

1: The ATRIX has a 4in screen the BIONIC 4.3 (bigger doesnt always equal better, but this phone seems more like the EVO4g then the DX form factor)

WINNER - Depends, but the BIONIC is bigger :)

2: ATRIX has a out dated 5MP camera (probably a upgraded version from the D1 with HD recording..) BIONIC 8MP..

WINNER - The BIONIC has larger pixel count, and probably a newer/better sensor then the ATRIX. Bigger doesnt always mean better, but why would they only put a 5MP on the ATRIX???

3: ATRIX has 1g RAM. BIONIC has 512mb

WINNER - ATRIX.. but like someone else said, the atrix is essentially a dualboot system needing that extra ram

4: ATRIX has that docking thing, fingerprint reader.. blahblahblahblah
When I see all that all I think of is a developers nightmare. It will probably be so difficult to create roms that fully use the features of the phone, that it may be a neglected cousin of the BIONIC. Chances are that within months of release (providing the unlocked/easier hacked bootloader) the BIONIC will have custom roms with ported versions of all the 'good' features of the ATRIX like the firefox thing.

WINNER - BIONIC.. I see the BIONIC as the next D1, and the ATRIX seems to be geared towards buisness users and will be a pain to rom for without losing tons of features.

Thats just some of the differences that ive been thinking about, but I really dont think that the RAM issue (while annoying) wont be a issue, and the community will fully back the BIONIC....

Im buying the BIONIC no matter what :) locked down like the white house or not.. It looks like a fantastic phone.... and my antenna is broke in my D1 :(
Okay so i guess Bionic is going to be the new best thing. That is unless your an iphone fan and waiting for the apple convention fwhere the verizon iphone is likely to be showcased.
the MP in the camera mean nothing at all in the quality of the pics

I know that and that's why I said that it doesn't mean its better... but it still stands to reason aand ask why would they only put a 5mp in the ATRIX?

The common person thinks 5MP is ridiculously awesome and 7MP is unnecessary. And old sensors ar cheaper.

I am with most others here - this is an unfair comparison, the D/B has specs through the roof and is a Motorola Droid, the T/B is just an HTC, not even a Droid HTC - not to take anything away from HTC - but IMO Moto makes the Superior Device -

Well it's all in what you are looking for. I still feel the TB is the right device for me, and have a few others who do too. You want the Bionx b/c of the dual core, I want the TB b/c of the ram, new sense, and it being HTC (so theoretically unlockable while the Bionx is not).

Again, it's all in what you want in a phone.

I want the bionic with all my heart but can't handle a locked bootloader

I agree. A locked bootloader would ruin the fun in a device for me.
