Tips to Help Improve Battery Life on ThunderBolt

Fully charged, unplugged at 11 am. Currently sitting at 68%. Moderate usage; net, phone 25 min, messing with apps. Display used 66%...cell standby 11%. All this on wifi, about 2 hours on 4g. I live in Minneapolis, strong 4g area.

I have had off charger since 1030am today made one call and using to reply here just been sitting in standby all day at 50%

I just rebooted my TB, was at 50%, booted up is at 42% LOL..

That just can't be the expected behavior. There's got to be something they can do via software. I have to put this phone on the charger by non, then mid afternoon, then early evening or risk having it die.

Do you guys think the 'what is using your battery' calculations are accurate?

My usage shows always a super high percent being the display. At first I thought might be correct as when I use the phone on my commutes I have the display on for a hour plus straight. But today being Saturday I used the phone less and the percentage used by display was very high for much less minutes used.

Background - M-F Usage
M-F I take a bus/subway to work and drop the battery drops 20% during that hour trip. During these trips it shows a high percent of the power drain 60-70% from display. I didnt question that ratio much as I have the display going for a full hour straight.

Saturday Limited Usage so why is display showing so high?
Today being Saturday I had took a trip to Home Depot, emailed my wife a picture from the store and other then that barely used the phone for 6 hours. By 11am the phone was down to 50% with 60% of that being the display. The screen time on was less then 30 minutes.

How could I be using that much on the display? Or is this just off?

....

I just went to store where got mine, manager used be neighbor, said if you want the 2700 bigger battery and back will be around $90, an you might get few more hours, so pretty much, have a charge cord wherever you go, my blackberry and my phones stay plugged in anytime I'm in the house, in the car, in the office, ford sync in my car so can stay in glove box while charging no need to see to talk on it, not allowed to text and drive so, why not keep on charger...the phone out perfoms all others almost so it's give and take I suppose, at least we aren't like a iPhone, if we need to hard boot, we can pull our batteries, they can't.

The 2750 HTC extended battery will be $50 whether you buy it from Verizon's or HTC's website, if you pay any more than that you are getting ripped off. They are probably out of stock (on back order) right now at most places that sell them though.
I wish it could be so. The 1600 mAh sells for $49.95 seidioonline.com

The price for the 2750 must be closer to $100 right?

Wow, I stand corrected, the 2750 with cover is $49.99 through Verizon, I just went to the web site. How can they do that?

I got it free from verizon, I had a good manager. I had some problems that day that were actually my fault, they fixed it. The manager even told me a story to tell verizon when calling customer service for the free battery. It really costs 50 dollars though, not 100, not 90, not a penny more than 49.99

anyone making a protector cover yet....I found on internet 43.00 1.99 shipping they are out of stock locally. right now turned displat about 1/4 " from off, turned off gps, going to leave it and my bb on for 15 hours see how does...whether talk or not.

Yeah, I just bought one. $50 for 2750 mAh when Seidio is charging that much for 1600? How could I not get it. Plus I have a discount from work with Verizon, it cost me $37.50. How could I not? LOL. dancedroid

I figure when going on trips, I pop it out and put the standard one back in to fit in the car dock, but for every day use using the extended, I can ramp this thing up a few notches. I am happy.

So what's the story?

I was told at verizon store 90 to 100, but on internet prob. 50 or less

When I picked up my Thunderbolt in the Verizon corporate store, the salesman asked if I wanted the extended battery (with battery cover). The box had a price sticker of $49.99 on it. I'll wait......I would rather have a case on the phone and my battery life isn't too terribly bad right now.
