Tips to Help Improve Battery Life on ThunderBolt

When you have screen turned down to almost dark, and you are running Live Wallpaper, like the cool thunder & lightening one, is the live what is running it up to 74% use, is auto the best, use a still wallpaper, how is Display so high when if Standby too?

I recommend setting your screen brightness at around 20-25% indoors (which is not too bright, but still plenty bright to see clearly). Auto often provides a setting that is too bright for what is needed (unless outdoors) and wastes battery life. Display is going to be the top thing on the usage list most of the time (although not all of the time).

And the Live wallpapers? Actually those are listed seperately.

Some say that their impact on battery life is minimal, while others say that it can be somewhat significant. I think it depends on which one you have and how long you stay on your home screens while your screen is on (where it can be viewed and is running). While the screen is off or you are in an app, the live wallpaper is not using resources. I used the thunder & lightning one for a while, but noticed it was showing up in my usage list, so I went to a static one instead. They are cool, but I'd rather have the extra battery life personally. I'll probably end up going back and forth between live and static wallpapers periodically though.

Has anyone gotten just their battery replaced by Verizon? I am sitting in class right now in Airplane mode because that's the ONLY way it won't drain 10% of battery. In 26 minutes it went down 12% with display at 1 minute of use on 1%. Now I've been in class an hour on airplane mode and haven't lost a single percent.... something syncing is eating battery like crazy.

I had to remove HTC sense fb cause it wouldn't stop syncing I don't know why it didn't do it before I rooted but that shouldn't make it keep syncing

No you can't get rid of it and I would suggest not ever using or clicking on it and yea I'm a believer that WiFi helps you battery so when ur at home or what not connect to your WiFi network but only have the WiFi on when ur using WiFi or it will drain ur battery searching For a signal

so when wifi enable do you need to disable anything or just jump on your router and use the TB as a small laptop with wireless? I hate blockbuster anyways so no need to click, wish was like my blackberry where you can hid icons.

sorry, no my connection to my home wifi is all set up, I connected to it, but you are basically accessing mail and internet through that on the phone? so if connected wifi, and 3g still showing, cause I assume 3g should show so you have phone service too, how is that saving battery, I always asked myself when I administer my blackberry users at work when ask about using wifi, I ask why do you want to use wifi at a starbucks when you have a signal...sorry being si stupid on this, hard to beleive I do tech support for a living and trying to figure out how using wifi in lieu of the connection we use walking around with.

So I got rid of Task killer, have never clicked the BB app..full charge off charger at 530, have used 9 % battery since 530 AM, checked some mail, used GPS 5 mins, checked some more mail..yesterday with Task killer installed was eating up 5 % a hour doing nothing, so looks like 2.25 hrs only 9 % used, that's better, cause actually been using, where I had let sit was using 5% a hour.
