When you say restore the image do you mean install the backup file that was moved into the clockworkmod folder? Or are we just supposed to install a certain part of the file?
I might be doing this wrong but when I tried flashing the "backup" file I got the message that the md5 sums don't match. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

heres what you have to do:
- take the original .zip of the nandroid back up and place it in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup
- boot into recovery
- click nandroid
- click "restore"
- choose the nandroid you just saved
- click "yes"
- wait
- reboot
- ???
- profit

I did do that. I was in recovery mode, made a backup of my device and then returned to the nandroid folder and selected it (after it was unzipped and relocated) and I got the message that the md5 sums were different and it aborted the install.

i believe this is where you went off track
it should be in .zip form
Well more drama. I found the UD download link on twitter, downloaded it, installed to root of my sd card, booted into recovery, went looking for it...no where to be found. I then mounted my sd card (while in recovery). Pushed it to the phone, again, using droid explorer. Once again, squadouche. I will try the download link you put up there earlier and see if that works, waiting for my phone to reboot to see if I can find what the issue is there.
